Of course, BBC 1 had planned a similar looking one logo back then, but it never made it on air...

You should use the Media tag when linking to Youtube. And this was a good few years earlier, when they were coming up with ideas for the 1991 relaunch.

1993 Sky idents are my favourite.... wouldn't look hugely out of place now either ☺️

Don't think there's any English services left on Astra 19.2° now, they all moved to 28.2° E in 2001 and what's left is primarily aimed at the rest of Europe.

Sky News International HD and SD I think are still on there?

SD only.

BBC World, Al Jazeera English, RT English and NHK World are in HD

Also CNN, CNBC Europe, France 24 English in SD. There's others these are from the top of my head.

Wow - I've never seen these. Interesting ideas, but the BBC 2 logo in particular is poor in comparison to what was actually used.

While these idents were merely experimental; that BBC TWO logo would have never solved the problem of a 'dull and worthy' image - which Lambie-Nairn set out to achieve.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned about UK Gold and Bravo's early idents; they've received high praise.

Live TV, did that not end up with Topless darts, or am I thinking of something else. Shocked

Yes, there is an amazing book called "L?VE TV: Telly Brats and Topless Darts" which I'd highly recommend.

It started off as a very different channel, a vision of Janet Street Porter which arguably influenced the look of Channel 5 two years later (especially 5 News)

In fact there's an equally brilliant documentary about L!VE's launch here.
