Mods, please move this post to the correct thread if need be.
On a Sky+ box when adding channels, what's the frequencies etc that I need to find the ITV Granada region, and add that channel in the other channels section?
Many thanks. Have done that, and got several ITV regions, all labelled ITV! Added them all, so surely one of them will be Granada. Mind you, I'm waiting to try and find regional advertising to know I've deffo got the right one!

You may do better to wait until the regional news is on, rather than haphazardly jump around looking for regional adverts.
Note that you can't record on Sky+ from Other Channels, and you're only limited to Now & Next on the Search & Scan banner. Just in case you weren't aware. If you weren't aware you are now, otherwise I'll get my coat and go away.

Just look for the local news on the EPG.
Do manually added channels have EPG data? IIRC when we had Sky that wasn't an option.
You could just go through them when the regional news is on.

Most of the ITV ones do as the correct regional variation appears on Channel 103 based on your postcode. When you add them through Other Channels it's only Now & Next.
Sadly little reason nowadays to get excited about being able to watch more than one ITV region - especially as even the regional news looks identical from region to region.
The days of gloating about being able to receive 2 or 3 regions are long gone sadly - and ironically sometimes it does feel like I had more choice in the 90s when I could get Granada, HTV and Central than it does now with all the Freeview channels.

Totally agree Brekkie the excitement of going up to the attic to watch Tyne Tees in the Yorkshire region was quite amazing, especially when Tyne Tees had a completely different broadcasting style to YTV, all gone now and in the past
That's quite true - Granada, Central and HTV all had quite different presentation and quite different styles, and that individuality has somewhat been stripped out of television now, so even though for example E4 is a bit cheeky with their continuity ultimately it isn't hugely different to the rest of the 4 family or indeed the dozens of other channels.
Similarly with regional news the three took quite different approaches as I was growing up in the 90s - Granada Tonight was very much cosy from the sofa news, HTV was quite safe whilst Central pushed it a bit and was quite modern. Plus of course in those days it seemed the regional news was relaunched every 2-3 years or so so if you got multiple regions you'd be seeing a refresh on either the BBC or ITV pretty regularly.
Unique continuity is quite the rarity nowadays. Not entirely surprising when you consider the landscape of television right now, but you still get channels like Dave who seem to find a way to stand out from the crowd a little.
