I personally hate him on GMTV. I enjoy his presenting of the Lottery, but he's just not the kind of person i wanna see in the morning. Andrew is better for that sort of thing.
Not sad to see him go at all.

Well it was nice to see Anne Davies turn up for Eamonn's last programme -- he almost sounded sincere at the end.
And of course after embarrassing Rachel McTavish, she also popped over from ITN to see the cake ~

They showed the first few seconds of GMTV from 1993 a few times on the show today. I don't know about you lot but I always find that with this picture...

...in the background of Eamonn and Anne that it reminds of the sunrise that featured on the opening sequence (at 6am) of TVam. Wonder if it was used as a transistion from old to new with the franchises of 1993?

There's a picture gallery of Eammon's time on GMTV on the GMTV website gm.tv
Pictures like these are particularly notable as there is absolutely zero coverage of this era of GMTV anywhere on the net.

I notice they glossed over the Anthea Turner era this morning, never refering to her!

Why does Penny look older there, than she does now?!

They almost cut him out every morning anyway. They run the titles earlier than the music so there is time for Penny to do her thing
Oh how I love Penny's little bits at the start. So totally fab.
I did enjoy Eamonn's last day. Surely he was the only person who could ever put up with Fiona's dizzyness.
Ben Shepard is dire. He gushes over everyone and is not exactly what one could call "heavyweight"
With regards to what he is doing

It will be interesting to see what happens to the titles when he leaves. Will they just cut him out or will they create a new sequence?

What I can tell you is that my first big project will be hosting a massive commemorative concert to celebrate the 60th anniversary of VE day live on BBC1 on the evening of May 8th.
Thirty thousand people will be there on the night together with a television audience of millions to remember the happiness of the end of the second World War in Europe.
I follow that up with a week of presenting BBC1's award winning City Hospital live every morning at 10 o'clock from the wards of London's St Thomas' and Guys.
Then two weeks of another new venture......hosting my own music and interview show as BBC Radio Ulster celebrates it's 30th anniversary.
The summer also sees me hosting an eight part Friday television series for BBC Northern Ireland......from the events that make up an Ulster summer. If you have a satellite receiver you can tune into both BBC NI television and radio no matter where you live.
My Saturday morning Sports Entertainment show ' The Eamonn Holmes Show 'on Radio Five Live continues to draw the big names from sport and showbiz and runs until our live broadcast from the FA Cup final at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, after which a summer break beckons.
No such break for my weekly column in The People newspaper where I have for the past three years had the privilege to be THE MAN OF THE PEOPLE.
