Yes, if you take out GMTV, Eamonn was always more of BBC personality than an ITV one at least until he started regularly doing This Morning.
He was on ITV Ulster for about a decade!
Eamonn has done shows for the BBC including Open Air early on his career but I don't think Ruth has.

If Morning Live becomes a permanent fixture, they’ll need a second presenting duo, at least for holiday cover, but quite possibly for one or two days a week.
As much as I do like Kym and Gethin, the beeb might be lining Eamonn and Ruth to take over Morning Live if it's extended (as suspected) into the new year

Eamonn has done quite a bit for the Beeb, notably a long run on the National Lottery (including the infamous Fathers for Justice escapade), Points of View, Songs of Praise, various long forgotten daytime quiz shows and even fronted the Darts for BBC Sport. And How Do They Do That (with the dubious pleasure of working with Esther McVey)
According to Genome, Ruth was a contributor to Good Morning with Anne and Nick, has reported for Countryfile and presented a gardening series.

A done deal indeed!
Sometimes, possibly made-up stories are perhaps leaked by one of the interested parties....
The story is based around this quote:
A telly source said: “Eamonn and Ruth have a huge fanbase and are very experienced.
"They can easily carry any number of shows, so producers at the Beeb are considering handing them a format to front.”
Sounds like a done deal

Eamonn has also done other work for BBC Northern Ireland over the years as well.

I remember Ruth presenting the BBC Really Useful Show on daytime mornings on BBC One when I was young in the 90s.
And Eamonn has done BBC Open Air, How Do They Do That? and Jet Set. Probably more stuff too that I can't remember.
I hope they do their own This Morning show on BBC One to rival ITV. They are excellent interviewers and great at news and consumer affairs.
Whether you personally like them or not, honestly, ITV have made a mistake in sacking two of their channel's best and most popular broadcasters.
Or something to replace The One Show (like it was when it was a bit more newsy and current affairs based back in the day)
"BBC waste licence fee money on ageing presenting duo" probably the next headline then.
I suspect like when the BBC poached Holly and Bradley last year that it'll be a one-off or short series that was already planned.

One Show is still pretty newsy, like Watchdog is included weekly
