Eamonn Holmes has decided not to renew his contract with GMTV when it expires in June (a great shame, in my opinion - I enjoy his friendly, funny side first thing in the morning).

Andrew Castle will step up to Number 1 presenter role.

Eamonn will continue to present the BBC game show The National Lottery Jet Set, but wants to take over from Jimmy Young on Radio 2, as there are plans for his retirement after 50 years in radio.

Umm...stick to Fiona Phillips and crew, Mr. Holmes.....

Such a shame. Eamonn and Fiona are so good together.

Don't know what/who your source is...this 'rumour' has been vehemently denied by GMTV who refer to it as 'New Year's nonsense'.

It may well indeed happen but as yet there is no confirmation of this story.

I hope he stays because he is really funny to watch in the mornings.
