You're overreacting. Charlie said that the Daily Star wasn't a great source, because that's all that had been posted here. He's hardly going to go around the internet and see where else it has been posted before making such a statement. Don't find 'shock' where it isn't warranted.

And the Star was quoting the Mirror - which is owned by the same publisher, Reach.

I expect the basic story is true

All the gossip around it that Eammon and Ruth haven't been told and that they are fuming etc may not be true

Although not intentional I think Phil just gave the story a nod when wondering if the flies in the studio were a result of a member of the team going missing over the weekend.

Alex Belfield has been bigging this up. Unfortunately he's gone from reporting things to making wild assumptions and getting very bitter and nasty. Its a shame when someone who is talented sinks so low as to make himself unemployable.

Belfield has basically turned into a troll character. Apparently he's now been asking for PayPal donations on his YouTube channel.

With regards to Mr Belfield - I have watched a lot of his videos, and he does seem to have a very large chip on his shoulder with regards to the BBC. His vitriol and damn right hatred for the BBC is weird, with his constant "defund the BBC" ranting nearly every day.

He admits he worked for the BBC for nearly 15 years, so he was very happy and content to take licence fee payers salary during those 15 years, but when the BBC decided to sack him because of questionable practices, then he suddenly has taken a large scale vendetta against anyone who says they enjoy the BBC.

He also has a problem understanding how the BBC is funded. I watched a video of his, ranting at BBC Studios, the commercial subsidiary of the BBC. Now I think he believes BBC Studios receives money from the licence fee, that is an utter lie, they do not.

BBC Studios is 100% commercially resourced, and any productions and salaries paid to BBC stars via BBC Studios are funded 100% from their commercially generated resources and not the licence fee, all of which Belfield ignores, as it does not align with his world view on the BBC.

Used to be a big fish in the small pool of BBC local radio in Leeds. Does stunts to big up his internet presence, and create 'traffic' and tags for search engines.
Seems to be working a treat given today's posts in this forum, and others.

Do find Ruth much easier to watch without Eamonn on Loose Women than on This Morning.

I preferred Rochelle and Marvin Humes hosting rather than Eamonn and Ruth.
