I’ve made my mind up, and I’m struggling to see where people have found issue? Philip questioned perfectly reasonably if he was a climate change denier because he was very strong in criticism for Extension Rebellion. While you can disagree with the stunt referred too, I’m not sure he had to be so critical about the group in a wider context. So Philips question helped to clarify (sort of) Andrew’s position.
Has ITV, Eamonn or Ruth actually confirmed this speculation from The Sun/Mirror?
I don't think so.
Seems to be another case of newspapers finding out the news somehow before an official announcement is published.
With no official comment by either ITV or Eamonn/Ruth it's not entirely impossible that the tabloids may be making part or all of this up, and with tabloids sourcing other tabloids to make it sound 100% accurate.
Eamonn has tweeted about other things yesterday and today, with no mention of the TM drama. There seems to have been no public confirmation or denial from any of the presenters or the company.
Be interesting to see IF this story is true what will happen for the other school holidays? (which in total add up to around another 6-7 weeks of the year)
As Holly/Phil’s summer holiday is around 8 weeks; if they got this and the others that’s a fair chunk!
They also have lots of other commitments. Ruth does LW of course and QVC and Eamonn pops up all over the place. Plus they were doing stuff together on channel 5; may give them more freedom for this.
But they could turn round and jack in TM altogether! Although it’s probably not worth them making too much of a rod for their own backs as LW and any GMB appearances will probably disappear too.
Believe Richard and Judy were planned for more Friday appearances this year but Judy was ruled out with shielding.
I think Ruth & Eamonn are by far the stronger of the two current regular presenting teams and appeal to a wider range of audiences.
That said maybe it's not as bad a change as it initally seems - Ruth would still have her Loose Women work so that could (without wanting to get into rota chat) have a more consistent presenting line-up.
After some of Eamonn's comments too this year - such as re 5G conspriacy theories - he might be starting to be seen as a 'loose cannon' so better to sideline him than risk him coming out with anything else risky on air.
Dermot is a safe enough pair of hands and fronted the former ratings jugernaut that was the X Factor so can easily front the mid-morning fluff that is This Morning. And Alison has been a much loved part of the show for years and I find her much more watchable than Rochelle who was probably the likely alternative.
It's a bit of a shame that Christine Lampard is basically just full-in for the various ITV shows (whether that be Lorraine/Loose Women) as she's very good on whatever she appears and if she wanted a regular role definetely would merit one. As much as Daybreakwas a disaster she is still very much part of the ITV teama decade on so she's doing something right.
Good grief, an enormous generalisation there, presumably based on no more than a personal dislike of Schofield, as opposed to actual fact. What, exactly, has Phillip gotten ‘away with’ whilst being employed by ITV?
I think posters have pointed out the example of that list he gave to Cameron. Of course we don't know how it might've been if a different presenter had done that but if say it had been Rylan doing that stunt I can't help thinking the reprecussions may have been slightly more severe than what happened to Schofield (where Ruth was then wheeled out to apologise for Philip's actions).

That's the trouble with year round formats - the likes of Christine end up filling in for others when really they could have their own show which aired when Lorraine didn't, even if it is basically the same show with a different name.
If C4 hadn't taken on Steph McGovern I think there would be a possibility of them trying to repeat what they did with Richard and Judy nearly two decades ago. They have done quite a bit for C5 but that seemed to have died off somewhat. To be honest their lack of possible avenues together at least elsewhere is probably exactly why it's time ITV execs want to move the on.

To be fair to Phillip, the incident happened on a Thursday so he wasn't on the show the following day to address it.
