And unfortunately they've ditched their subtle graphics for the junk more common on other music channels, including a huge purple splat telling us what programme we're watching.
Notice though on E4+1 rather than putting the E4+1 dog top right (where that purple splat is now!) they're calling it "E4 Music+1"
Quite surprised at this revamp really - I assumed E4 Music's days were numbered with the upcoming launch of the 4 Music channel.
I preferred the old look. It was neat, contemporary and different. This looks like bog standard MTV crap. Also surprised they changed so close to the launch of the 4Music channel. Surely it would make more sense then to fill E4 during the day with more repeats (maybe they could set a new record and get through a whole season of Friends in a week!) and to plow all the music stuff into 4Music?
The 4Music graphics we've seen so far on The Hits, on the other hand, are fantastic!
Why do music channels feel the need to dog programmes with the name of the programme?
I've no major issues with well designed channel dogs - but these and "promo" dogs really annoy me and are completely unnecessary.
I agree the 4 Music package on the Hits looks fantastic (are they using that on the late-night C4 strand now too?) - and I hope when the channel does launch properly they keep them and don't opt again for something new which I think would inevitably be inferior.
The only good thing about the new E4 Music brand is the much neater "E4 Music + 1" over what they had before. Everything else that's changed is making it look more and more like TMF's graphics, which are of course incredibly pig ugly. Having said that, the new E4 Music graphics aren't quite as bad as TMF - yet.

Yes it is! He looks just like the one from 'the bunker' advert and Peters website says that is him. Also why has he taken on this rustic voice for, if you listen to his voiceovers on old Family Fortunes and the old Bruces Price is Right he sounds completely different!

It is him, and he's carrying on the style started by the original E4 voiceover man, whose name escapes me at the moment, but he sadly passed away.
