E4's Ruddy Big Rebrand

E4 have launched a series of new, Channel4-esque, idents. Various objects animate and come together to form the E4 logo.

The numerous EStings and breakbumpers remain in a similar style but have also been refreshed and purple sticky tape is used as the background for slugs and trail details.

The E4 band lives on however! One ident I have just seen, set in a living room, features the infamous E4 band on the TV.

Plus the legendary voice of Peter Dickson is still heard advertising the programmes coming up on your tellybox.

It's all very good and definitely worth a look

It's about time they had a refresh, and I quite like it from that video.

I'd say the legendary voice belonged to Patrick Allen and Peter does a legendary good impression of it.

About time - not seen it yet but it's much needed.


And great timing too - save them getting out any Christmas idents won't it!

It's all a bit freaky. I like it though. Certainly inventive and different.

Looks good - not sure though whether their different trailer style is a good thing or a bad thing.


Notice the E4 competition ads in the breaks (for St Trinnians) still use the old style.


Hope they've ditched the generic C4 ECP too.

Interesting that they've changed their font. The old one was very distinctive, so I'm surprised they've lost it. The new font is very 'in' at the moment, but it's not as instantly recognisable as E4's.

But it was in use since E4 launched, and it was getting a bit stale. It looks rather good from Ash's caps.

Wow! Looks great, I really like the sticky tape style trailers, everything looks good, weldone E4!

I like it. It certainly fits the age range. As much as I liked the crazy purple band, it was due for a re-brand.

I do think it'll get really old, really quick though.

Not a fan of the sticky-tape effect either. As said earlier in this post - i'm very surprised they ditched their Fontsmith font for Courier (equivalent)

Reminds me of the skins branding.
