E4, More4, Film4 and 4Music Rebrand:

I wonder if they've been keeping some of the worst for last on E4 with the 10pm debut of their 'Kebab' ident, certainly not of the same quality as when BBC Two made an ident with that name. I wonder if this is another one that's going to be reserved for later slots too, given the face-cutting-off action involved.

Definitely not one of the better ones for this rebrand! Although the E-Stings were quite variable too.



That's going to have to be the last from me today too. I've been capturing coverage of the rebrands since before 6am this morning, with only about 3 hours sleep before that. But I'm keeping the recordings going for E4 so if anything else pops up I'll add it to the site tomorrow.

Am I reading too much into that kebab one, or is it a piece of social commentary lampooning how certain people would rather capture the moment of a tragedy rather than help the situation?

Is it just the video and compression or does that menu just appear/disappear rather than animate on/off? That's very jarring if it is just randomly showing up so quickly. I also think it would look better if it came in from the side and not the bottom.

E4 idents are really a disparate & disjointed set of elements. Some animated in different styles, some live action, some just plain weird. I guess its all part of the 'quirkiness' of the channel. But it feels to cheapen the brand somehow to me. That logo doesn't help.

E4 has to be weird, random and varied, so I'm fine with it

I would've preferred to see it shut down. It's not offering anything in its current state that another channel isn't, especially as it has the chance to be the only (I think) FTA mainstream music channel.

I wouldn’t want to see it shut down, a rename would probably be better. I watch it all the time for King of The Hill. It’s different to E4 as it’s more like a mix of E! and MTV. It’s fine as a channel.

4seven is still using their old graphics despite the new logo.
Come on, Channel 4, at least give your catch up channel some fancy new graphics and idents?

I think Channel 4 just don't want to get rid of their relatively expensive new look for 4Seven, and they also probably think not many would notice the older logo on some of the idents

I personally think the idents are still fine and have aged well, but they need some tweaks, particularly on the pool ident

It's hardly a new logo - it's a 2D variant of the one used in the idents.
