Does anyone else think that E4 should relaunch Adult Swim From Thursdays at midnight to either a Weekend or a nightly service from midnight-6am featuring more Adult Swim shows on All 4 or some Anime Programming

Maybe they could air one show each at 10pm every weekday to compete with ITV2 showing the Seth McFarlane shows. (Rick and Morty on Monday, Robot Chicken on Tuesday etc.)

I do think E4 needs to rethink their late night programming output. Yes, people tune to E4 for US imports, but it does seem pretty excessive of them owning the rights to these shows (Duncanville, Adult Swim, etc.) and not using them to their potential. Especially since they repeat other imports god knows how much during the day and evening.

Anime would be a bold and risky move, especially as anime was never really treated well on UK television. Sure, you'd catch anime on some obscure Sky channel (AnimeCentral, Viceland) or catch it on some kids channel but again, I'd be surprised if a big PSB like Channel 4 were to air anime on top of having anime for free on All 4.

I know we are speaking of E4 but even when the block was ran on the defunct Bravo they aired it even later after 1am I think during the week.

The thing is why they can't air more from Adult Swim
ie
Harvey Birdman
Aqua Teen Hunger Force or even repeating shows like Dragonball Z (I believe this is shown in the states possibly redubbed again), I think UKTV in general is scared to be cutting edge even when it comes to Adult Swim (i'm guessing they are trying to aim for not offending too much so have play safe shows on rotation), not saying things like Rick and Morty are "safe" but I'm guessing its show they know won't have many complaints.

Another suggestion is why do they not air Adult Swim one night on E4 and repeat or air new on Channel 4?

It also ran on TruTV for a short time.

I don’t think it’s gaining traction here, and I don’t think it ever will. For one, a lot of their shows are or have been on streaming services for a while before their e4 debut. Second, there are significant cultural differences between us and America. We tend to go to sleep earlier than they do. Late night TV has rarely worked here, even on the PSBs.

I forgot the stint on Tru TV, the thing is then why pick these things up if lets just say not interested in doing it? I understand that there is cultural differences between the UK and the US but on the other it seems for me the UK has been too slow to grasp Adult Swim, the only thing I believe we got close to as Adult Swim was Space Ghost Coast to Coast on Cartoon Network about 1998-99 (maybe sooner?) but I believe that rules are different here so Cartoon Network doesn't broadcast it (yet we could also say when they had Toonami on in the UK why they couldn't air it on there late I will never know)

Maybe E4 should look for new talent to introduce these shows on Adult Swim like with CITV and CBBC.

Maybe dont relay on Youtuber or Tiktokers or Reality TV contestants to present these shows. Try and get some new presenters.

I haven't watched the block in the while but I thought it was introduced by the E4/Channel 4 announcers?

Yes, they are. Infact, ALL continuity is by the announcers.

Thats not entirely true, ITV had some success with late night broadcasting back in the 80s

Hi Jgdsgh.

I don't know if you've heard of an YT user called "Applemask" (real name of Matthew Harris) but he has over the last few years made some truly superb videos about ITV presentation (as well as BBC and C4) under the series name "ITV In The Face". One video specialised on looking at ITV's night time efforts:

There was considerably less competition back then though.
