Channel 49 has been picked up by my TV card.
It's got the Top Up TV slide for E4 on it, (but isn't the E4 channel as that's what I posted above). Just says it's "TopUpTv new ch" as title on the EPG.

On 705 you now get the C4 testcard and some beeping, then the Big Brother logo appears and you are advised:

"For Big Brother Live 24 hours a day please retune to E4 on channel 14"

EDIT: Seems to cut to E4 for the breaks, but hidden behind the BB MHEG.

Does that explain the curious aspect ratio I'm getting, then, or is my box to blame?

Widescreen content (ads and trails) is being displayed as though it were 4:3 content in the middle of a 14:9 frame - but it's not entirely consistently. Anyone else getting this?

I'm picking up channel 39, but channel 14 doesn't seem to exist on my box yet. Is this normal?

I've just got through the door, E4 appears to be working...just. Channel 39 and E4+1 isn't there at all. Typical.

Well E4 is now free-to-air - and it appears to have mucked up all of the channels on Mux 2 - ITV1, ITV2, ITV3, ITV News, Channel 4, E4 and 705. They are now completely unwatchable, the picture is constantly breaking up and there is little or no sound. As a digital terrestrial viewer for six years I've never seen anything like it before! Shocked I'm on the Reigate transmitter - is it just me?

Its all perfectly fine here at Crystal Palace although I have to set my box to "Scan Encrypted Channels" because it still says that E4 is encrypted.

If you press red while on E4 it will take you to channel 705 for live streaming and then just press green to get back to E4.

E4 on freeview is much better than when i had it on TUTV a few months ago, there's no constant picture break-up at all like i had on TUTV, though there was a small fault at the on the second episode of friends towards the end.

I was having it too (also on the Reigate transmitter). I was preparing myself for a life without ITV (although it wouldn't be much of a loss), C4 and E4... Nice to find out it was only temporary though!

E4+1 still gives a better picture, though!
