E4

Don't expect it till Friday morning when E4 will be taken off it's current Top Up TV slot and moved to it's 24 hr Freeview slot.

I'm pretty excited about getting E4 on Freeview from this Friday. Its one of the few channels which might encourage uptake.

That said, I do hope it doesn't see a return to me falling asleep watching live coverage of BB as I did a few summers ago. I burned out the tube of my old telly doing that.

Not appeared on my Freeview box yet (despite new channels being detected and my search coming up with 17 more channels than it did last time), but at Digital Spy it's reported the following has now appeared:

39: For E4+1

49: For the new Top Up TV channel TBA

705: From C4, believed to be a Big Brother Interactive 24/7 stream.


E4+1 is coming from Mux C, while on C4's half of Mux 2 we have:

Channel 4
E4
TUTV Stream
705: BB Interactive?

I suspect E4+1 will be in place until they launch More4, which will take its space on the Mux.

well I think E4+1 will say where it is on Mux c.

Remember ITV have 4 channels on their Half and the 5th (M&M) on Mux D, So channel 4 can have 4 on their half and 1 on MUx C (e4+1). I think channel 4's half will look like this -

E4
Top up Slot (uktv food. Bloomberg etc)
More 4 (replacing the 705 Big Bro channel)

Well the E4+1 channel barker has arrived...

And is screening all the E4 stings back to back on a loop...

Broadcast are now reporting that Paramount Comedy is likely to replace E4 on Top Up TV - and it says they will continue leasing the space of C4 until at least September.

More4 launches in October.

Does anyone know of a channel (if any) that might replace it on Sky's base crap-pack? The only "decent" channels with that at the moment are E4, MTV and Sky One, obviously a lot of the reason to get that package evaporates with E4 going FTA.

Paramount coming to THAT would be spiffy!

Just did a re-scan on my Pace ex-ITV Digital box. E4+1 is on 39 showing a loop of E4 idents, 49 is entitled "New Top Up TV Channel". It also found 705 and 805 possibly for the BB6 live streams?.

So far, I've just got E4+1 (on Black Hill)

Don't forget, some digital boxes won't show a service if nothing is being broadcast on it.

My Sagem box and nice new shiny Nebula DigiTV PCI card have now picked up E4+1 now that the barker's playing but neither 'Top Up TV new ch' or 705 are listed. However, my Thomson box picked up all three, but shows the latter two as 'No Service'.

Hang on in there because as soon as something starts on these new channels your box will find them.
