Rather dull Voice studio thread

So, where was Friday's episode of The Voice filmed, anyone? I know the auditions were at MediaCity but I'm pretty sure the final stages are not, like last year when they filmed the auditions at TVC and the live shows at Fountain, and given Danny was at Broadcasting House to meet The Queen earlier on Friday, it must surely have been in London.

However, with Britain's Got Talent at Fountain on Saturday, that surely would have been too fast a turnaround to do The Voice as well? Now Graham Norton on Friday clearly didn't come from its usual home of Studio 1 at LWT, given Graham's references to the audience having to "laugh for two" and indeed the audience seating, when that was in vision, only had one tier, instead of the two you usually see. So was The Voice at LWT, then?

I say this, we would have had this issue last year when The Voice was doing its live shows on the same night as the final of Britain's Got Talent. Hmm.

Thank you. Looked pretty nice, too. Wonder what was at Studio 1 in LWT, then?

Maybe nothing. TLS aren't the cheapest studio operation. Could just be that Pinewood were cheaper - and I think Pinewood is also bigger?

Just wondering, how much does it cost to even hire the studios?

Probably. I wasn't wondering why The Voice wasn't at LWT, I was wondering why Graham Norton wasn't in Studio 1 at LWT as he usually is.

Worth noting that they aren't using the tv studios at Pinewood and are instead using a sound stage usually used for films like Les Mis. http://www.pinewoodgroup.com/our-studios/uk/pinewood-studios/stages/richard-attenborough-stage.
Looking at the link above it says The Voice is on the Richard Attenborough stage ( 30,044 sq ft )and has an audience of 1,600. They also managed to fit in Reggie's 'V room' at the end of the studio. Last year I believe it was a portakabin at the side of the studio. Laughing Oh the glamour of TV!

Put it like this, the British National Party won't be able to afford any of them for their next party political broadcast.

Thanks, I never realised how expensive it was. £2 Million for a every live show, that adds up to something like £24 million. But then you've got to think of auditions, boot camp and the Judges houses. That's a lot of dosh.

And the same last year too, though they used the George Lucas stage at Elstree (not Fountain) for the live shows - though of course that is better known as a TV studio thanks to Big Brother and Dancing on Ice, but technically speaking it is a sound stage.

I do think with The Voice though it's a classic case of nice set, shame about the show!

Looks to me like Studio 2. The set itself is long and not too deep. It would fit into Studio 2 quite easily with the reduced depth seating brought in. Graham likes to work at TLS, and it has always kept him at physical arms length from the BBC!

TLS have always considered themselves to be the M&S of studio facilities, neither Harrods or Lidl. Value for money.

Is M&S considered value for money?
