OK so what's the best way to play? Use up your chips quickly covering all right and wrong answers, or use them sparingly on ones you're sure of and save them for later questions you might not know?

Exactly - that's the dilemma and that's the risk. Save too many chips and you might not need them.

Duel only got 3 million viewers on Saturday 16th February - despite being placed directly after Ant and Dec, which got 6.1 million viewers.

This surely must suggest that this show is scraping the bottom of the barrel to lose half the audience in a primetime 9.30pm slot?

That's a pretty poor showing from Ant and Dec too - normally they're guaranteed 7-8m.

Unfortunately for Duel it's never going to pick up viewers now, which is a shame considering it's the best gameshow format in a long time.

ITV are showing faith though across their whole schedule this year and not pulling under performing shows - basically as they're big guns aren't on stand by to fill the slots, and Duel has even picked up a sponsor, though I think ITV1 probably think that by getting Harvey's involved people will think they're watching Corrie.

As most people here have said, it should have launched stripped across one week, giving it the best chance of getting alot of people to see at least one episode, and gaining some momentum throughout the week too. Then they could have bought it back as a weekly show, ironing out the problems such as everyone quitting and finding a slot that suits.

Of course we'll never know now, but I still think if Dancing on Ice had stayed on Saturdays Duel would have had a much better chance of succeeding.

OH MY GOD

ITV have just ruined most of this Saturdays 'Duel'. I won't post how here, but if you've seen it you'll know what I mean...

Some guy named Robert is apparently one question away from something like £470,000

No point watching now.

Yes - very annoying and as usual, trying to entice the people not watching by pissing off the people who have been.

Exactly, they've shot themselves in the foot by spreading DOI out to sunday. Why take such an important show in the saturday night line up out?

Also to go full extremes, ITV have now shown that promo via the form of a picture on the offical Duel website. Meaning that somebody want to see a previous episode, unless there is an alternative method. Then you'll have to visit the site and see the picture blown open.

Duel got 4.3 million viewers on Saturday 9th March - its highest so far. Obviously, its appeal is growing and I certainly enjoyed Saturday's show. Maybe it was something to do with that guy winning the jackpot and ITV trailing it all week and also Ant and Dec announcing at the end of the show "someone wins the jackpot tonight!!"??

Anyway, it seems to be gaining popularity and it should return for another series sometime!
