Hi all,
Whilst on BBC Parliament, I used my STB remote control to increase the volume, thus having the effect of getting rid of the Parliament MHEG. As I did this, I noticed there are two mini-screens, slightly less than 1/4 size behind the Parliament MHEG, both showing looped items (Johnny Cash, pictures of the Selby crash, some aboriginal people and so on), one slightly delayed, with various stings, some saying 'News' and 'News Headlines'. Currently there is Philip Hayton and Andrew Simmonds presenting. Changing the audio language allows me to hear the audio for one of these extra services (the Andrew Simmonds one). Presumably, these are the same as the Sky feeds, but can anyone confirm that?

EDIT: Screenshot Here (courtesy of dbfm on the DigiSpy forums).

The Andrew Simmonds feed is the same as the looped News 24 headline service on Sky, also available online via www.bbc.co.uk/bbcnews24

You're right....it does indeed look like there's some kind of News Interactive testing going on. Although I can't get the different audio thing to work.

I don't have this in Scotland. Is it just on one transmitter?

Someone one Digital Spy called BBC reception advice and they said the news multiscreen should be launching in December.

The new look BBCi service should still be launching later this month.

it seems they're testing again today.

instead of the single bbci news and bbc parliament (the latter on 2 streams), which was the case on the first day of testing, we now have 1 bbc parliament stream, 1 bbci news headlines stream and 1 bbci stream of kofi annan's speech given today at the UN.

although sadly my pace dtva gives me bbc parliament pictures on all 3, all-be-it with differing audio.

ah yes - I can see the three streams today.

Is there a way to tune into the audio of the others? I've got a goodmans box.

Doesn't work on my Phillips OnDigital box, the volume control OSD is disabled when on BBC channels or text applications. Doesn't appear when I press Info either.

These multiscreens are for the new BBCi - Apparently like the Sky version where the loops will appear in the corner while browsing the text service
