Can anyone explain why the info banner on my DTT box is showing the following . . . ?

An extremely long showing of a Stallone movie, disguised as ITV Nightscreen:

Emmerdale omnibus, or 6 hours 35 minutes worth of Hollywood related gossip:

14 hours and 40 mins of The Vice, interspersed with ITV Nightscreen:

Is my DTT box receiving duff ITV program data, or is there a software glitch in the box?

The stuff on that Mux is always dodgy I find. I normally turn to the BBC and then go up and down as they actualy do their stuff properly

My Freeview box also carries claims of obscure ITV programming decisions, such as Teleshopping across ITV2 for 18 hours a day, QuizMania described as Movies Now (for six hours) and "no information available" when The Mint is on.

Mind you, the same box also claims on occasion that More4 doesn't show any programming at all, that E4 Music runs 24hrs a day and that Channel 4 stops showing stuff at 5am.

Has to be a Mux problem.

I'm saying nothing about that!

I think that means that the listings / service info data feed to the transmitter (not regional centre) you are watching from has failed. ISTR that there is a skeleton EPG that they default to if they lose a live feed, though this may be a bit out of date. This could be what has happened here.

NTL/Arqiva (who run the ITV/C4 and SDN/Five transmitters - and also provided ONDigital/ITV Digital with theirs) have always been a bit slapdash in comparison to CrownCastle/NationalGridWireless (who provide the BBC and Freeview transmitters) when it comes to EPG and service stuff AIUI.

Crown Castle ran ITV/ONdigital's transmitters too. Hence why they got involved in Freeview - they had all the equipment lying around doing nothing and losing money once ITV/On went bust

***EDIT *** Yep - you're right, I'm wrong. CCI had the ON Digital contract as well.

That EPG is the same as on a Thomson box I have - and it too is having problems with ITV's EPG. Unplugging the box from the mains and letting it 'rest' for a few minutes then plugging it back in resets the EPG to the current programme.

However, tomorrow's Morning News runs unti 8.35 and Jeremy Kyle runs until the Lunchtime News (though my Nebula DigiTV EPG is showing the same - so that must be a transmission fault.)
