All the veridian "2"s from BBC2 in 1991, especially "Shadow" and "Optics" (1992).

I think the most dramatic ident is the
Sky Premier
ident from 1998 - 2002 with the goldern women falling to form the screen with Sky Premier written on it.
I also liked the music that was played on Sky Premier Widescreen at this time when the channel was off air most of the day before it started broadcasting from 6pm on weekdays and 12 midday on weekends.
The Sky Movies Premier ident that followed this look was also dramatic but not as dramatic. The Sky Movies Premier Widescreen music that followed was also not as good.

I suppose that the 1998 version was better than the 2002, though I did like the 2002 ident and music, and still to this day don't get the bits of singing/wabbling/yoddling at the top of the 1998 ident.
The 2002 ident was the last great piece of Sky presentation in my mind, now it's mostly awful. Sky News is most dramatic nowadays.
Plus both idents were grand and perfect for introducing a film, rather than these current weak attempts. I was about to say that you always see something grand before films at the cinema, though at the Warner Village that has now changed to VUE, they use a Village ident that is absolutely rubbish before the film, especially compared to the old Warner Village flying through the reels towards the screen with popcorn firing and bouncing off the logo before bugs and the gang appear.
Now I've got onto this topic, not strictly TV related, but why did they change the name from Warner Village to VUE? Surely having Warner in the title is a big advantage?

All I know is that Warner Village Cinemas got sold off really, their owners Vue wanting out with the WV name, and all of the stuff that goes with it, such as the whole Looney Tunes, though I've only been to a WV Cinema once, it felt like you were going to the Cinema, the presentation was suitable for a film presentation. Now as it's just Vue, it looks poor, it means nothing really. Plus the sponsorship WV Cinemas used on LWT/London Weather were briiliant too.
UCI Cinemas have always been odd, up until the late 1990's they used to have a ball that went round the screen and literally in your face and IIRC it used to scare the sh*t out of everyone!
But they got rid of that, with a poorer, but half decent ident that had good music. Though I went to UCI the other week and I could have sworn they've changed it again, to something rather more space age, like it's sister company The Film Works.

Would make sense, seeing as UCI is no longer a Paramount Universal company as stated on the ident after a recent buyout. Expect more changes soon.
