Does anyone know if BBC Four will have a permanent DOG, similar to BBC Knowledge?

My view is that it really shouldn't. I know the 'to DOG or not to DOG' debate is old and tired, but if I want to know what channel I'm on I only have press one button!!!

See the 'DOG Poll'... register your vote...

I think it's a pretty safe bet that BBC Four will have a DOG. The BBC have a DOG on all their digital channels so BBC Four will be the same as the others.

I hate DOGs. I don't need a constant reminder of what I'm watching when I can just press the TV button. Look hereat what TV & video's anti- DOG petition. Already 2250 signitures and growing.

What the hell is the point of signing a stupid 'petition' that will never get used??? Confused
DOG's arn't that bad. I think it adds a certain touch to each channel, and its certainly not worth complaining about.

Ive watched many programmes where the DOG is slap bang in front of peoples faces, or some important text people would want to read. In some cases DOGs have obscured phone numbers. Programme makers don't make the programmes to be obscurred by DOGs and graphics- why should they. I'm also including 'bugs are coming' and ECP graphics here.

I would expect BBC Four to be dogged.

I think all the new/relaunched BBC digital channels will have dogs - as they need to work hard to make people aware of their existence - especially as BBC Four is unlikely to be on channel four on digital satellite, cable or terrestrial.

Hopefully the BBC Four dog will tie in with the BBC World/BBC News 24 dog in respect to 16:9 - so that the BBC Four dog will sit in the black box above the top left BBC World live bug.

James, have you heard yourself lately?? While I respect the fact that some DOG's can be over-sized sometimes (a la MTV), most of the stuff they cover up is on programmes that are repeats or re-runs of a series that has been shown millions of times before. Perhaps if you got a widescreen TV, you wouldn't be moaning as much Razz: .

And Martin, is that a mock or is it off a website somewhere?
