I bet all those watching were cringing tonight..

The GMG North announcer introduced the regional news by saying '..but now the late news from our region'

This doesn't happen that often, I'd say that 95% of regional programming gets a regionalised announcement these days.

Plus, they've started having an ident before the Local Weather these days as well, also with a regionalised announcement 'But first on Yorkshire, the latest weather from Jo'

This doesn't even come close to 'Now the news that matters to us...' arrgg!!!

Why in sod's name would Granada Reports matter to some daft bird in Leeds?

Nick, I'm talking rubbish. Hey! Not only is it my job, I also do it in my spare time. Annie St John married to Michael St John? Really?

By the way - Cricketers Wives. Now that would be a series. Shot on location in Redruth. An entire episode on their fruitless search for a wool shop so they sit in their cars enjoying a Chinese take-away and talk about who has the best googlies.

Annie married to Michael St John? How did that work then?

AFAIK Annie worked at TTTV from 81 to 86, moving to HTV afterwards and working there before dying of a suspected drugs overdose, in slightly suspicious circumstances, in 1992. She was called St John whilst she worked for Tyne Tees, how could she have been married to a man who worked at the other end of the country?
