Doctor Who is 40 years old now.
Who can forget the TARDIS, the Daleks, Cybermen and all the other monsters which made children cower behind there sofas.
There have been Eight Doctors.
Who was your favourite Doctor?
What was your favourite Monster?
Did Doctor Who scare you?
If they made a new series with real Actors, who should be the new Doctor or Assistant? Very Happy Very Happy

There have been 8 doctors, but you only included 7 of them

It's Peter Davison (NOT 'Davidson')

And they DO have a new series in the pipeline.

Hmm, anyway I have been very disappointed with the way the beeb handled the 40th anniversary. BBC Television itself provided only a 1 hour programme on Doctor Who earlier this week. Not a single episode was aired (nor have they since early 2000). All other celebrations were left up to UK Gold, who ran a series of episodes during the week outside of their usual omnibus affairs.

And Terry Nation's estate also managed to ruin the affair, by not being at all flexible over the rights expiration on dalek stories, meaning that the daleks were not allowed to play any part at all in the 40th anniversary of Doctor Who (cliched and overly citated they may be, but they were still the first real villains ever to appear on Who - and also the longest running, appearing continuously over the series' entire lifetime - and even getting a (albeit very brief) acknowledgement in the 1996 TV movie).

Being possibly the most low-key of all Who anniversaries, it does make me feel that there will be no acknowledgement at all of it's 50th.

FEMINIST MODE: I think it's time for a female Doctor, Joanna Lumley would be great for the part......

REALIST MODE: They should give Richard E Grant a go.....

You didn't include an option for all of them , ala Brigadier Lethbridge Stewart !

('Splendid chap. All of them !)
