As I said on another forum, it looks like a newbie to photoshop made that. It's even got the trademark lens flares that photoshop newbies always use. Pah!

I quite like it. The McGann one is a bit too americanised for my taste, and the previous gameshow-style logo looked tacky even at the time!

Possibly a little too plain text, but I think we'll have to wait until we see the titles to really see how it works.

the McGann logo was just the original Pertwee logo re-coloured that's all.

Which Jon Pertwee logo? The 2 I'm thinking of are on this page

and they don't look like the same thing in different colours to me.

Yes you're right that is the Pertwee/Tom Baker era logo. But they only adopted it in 1974 in Pertwees final season.

From 1970 till 1974 this was the logo used in the title sequence

Sorry for the poor picture, it was the best i could find. It's basically the same logo.

*

And I think it was the best logo and still is. Ten times better than the toss they've come up with for the new series.

Is there anything about this new series that someone can't end up complaining about?

Why don't we speculate (of course!) but withold judgement till we actually see it on screen?

Thanks Mr Stabby, I stand corrected.

Neil, if you actually read this threadI think you'll find a lot of people haven't uttered a single criticism of the new series. I for one think it's going to be excellent.

Yup, and i'm one of them. Sure there will be loads and loads of changes, infact it'll prob be completely different, but who cares i'm just glad to see a decent science fiction serial on the BBC again. Back to the days of Doctor Who and Blake's 7 I hope Very Happy

It'll be funny to see the Doctor Who Appreciation Society bods afterwards though. I mean i've been on Doctor Who forums and they are already moaning that the TARDIS is 2 inches too big or something ridiculous like that. Pathetic really!

'The Nurse', if you actually read this thread, I think you'd find that I had already contributed and hence must have read the thread myself.

The art of irony is clearly dead.

Long live the art of irony.
