Annnnnnnnd finally, new TARDIS revealed.

I like that a lot. The quirky gizmos were getting a bit tired (*ding!*) - I wonder if it's another reflection of Moffatt's appreciation of the Dalek movies? It seems reminiscent of those, somehow...

Pumps and bells and all that stuff looked naff. Just stupid, really.

The whole "its bigger on the inside" works just as much even with the classic white control room. Its still much bigger than a telephone box.

I suspect that many of the younger viewers have never had the need to stand inside a telephone box, so have no idea what you're talking about . . . Laughing

They will have done, but they call them rain shelters.

...as does the current "Pond" console room... and the 8th Doctor had a three piece lounge suite and a massage chair.

I can't find the image, but there is an iconic shot of Tom Baker sitting down on a deck chair in the classic series TARDIS. So yes not exactly intrinsically linked to the set itself, but the original TARDIS did have chairs Smile Infact is it me, or is that single wooden chair the same chair in all those pictures! If so, it lasted a long time in the series!

Its almost as if Tom Baker's secondary control room was designed around that awesome wavy chair.
