Probably... and it's so much better than using a fake name, which would've sounded off, or just referring to "social networking websites" which isn't how people usually discuss them.

A Doctor Who episode about cubes and not one dig at ITV's game show?

What the HELL was with the ending of the Power Of Three? So there's this massive invasion of cubes which are going to kill every last human on the planet - so the Doctor goes onto the space ship and simply turns them off using his magic wand on the computer and the world is saved, and nobody even tries to stop him ruining their dastardly plan?

A typical RTD ending - it was rushed by the flick of the sonic-screwdriver and then all is fine - for me that is very lazy writing.

For a classic (wrong word really) "fix all with magic" ending, look no further than the 1st season WW2 episode.

That wasn't quite so bad - it made use of pre-existing plot elements at least, the nanogenes and the kid. I got the feeling that last night's episode was supposed to be all about character development, but then they tried to balance it with the sci-fi story with the result that both suffered. The editing looked choppy at times too, which makes me wonder how much got cut. Or maybe they were just trying to be hip, or groovy, or street, or whatever it is yoofs say these days.

I think the problem was that they spent too much time with the cubes doing nothing at all. So when they did start to do their evil thing there really wasn't any time left to explore it in any great detail and so we got the god-wand... er sorry... sonic screwdriver.

Power of Three was really a candidate for a 2-part episode... or even a new Torchwood serial. I somehow feel it would have been better if the "invasion" had actually failed before the Doctor got involved and that all his investigations were pointless because it never would have succeeded anyway. Having Rory's dad spend all that time watching the boxes only for them to do nothing at all would have been far funnier if only to see his shere frustration. Likewise the Doctor's frustration at investigating nothing. They could easily have payed it off in a much later episode.

The first three episodes of the season worked exceptionally well with simple storylines as standalone episodes. Power of Three was trying to do too much in too short a time.

Although having such a poor episode in the number 4 slot can only help next week's episode by comparison.

Karen Gillan is to be one of Conan O'Brien's guests on his US late night talk show "Conan" on Thursday night.

TeamCoco.com - This week's schedule of guests.

We've got a special TARDIS-sized parking spot just for "Doctor Who" star Karen Gillan.
It's next to the sign that says "Wibbley-Wobbley Timey-Wimey Parking Only."

I'll post a videoclip of the interview shortly after the show *ahem* becomes available from certain sources!

I would have expected at least a cameo from Colin McFarlane.
