there's a blink you miss it moment
when the doctor realises who oswin was and runs off, the camera pans across her grave stone and shows her birthday
23rd november 1866,
100 years to the day dr who started

I've spoilered it incase nobody seen it yet

You are 3 years out though. Dr Who first aired in 1963 not 1966

They'll grow on you. I think they're fab!

I loved the looked-like-it-could've-been-made-without-the-aid-of-CGI look about it, although I could live without the fly through the TARDIS doors into the first scene.

Speaking of the TARDIS doors...

Is this the first time they've finally managed a seamless shot going from outside to inside? I seem to remember RTD was always annoyed that they could never manage it.

Agreed as my grandad was called Les, as in Leslie, but his real name was James Leslie

Just watched it on iplayer.

Nice new set of titles, now again including the face of the Doctor. Didn't really notice the change in music to be fair.

Liked the idea that the Doctor has to get to know his new companion. But I just hope she doesn't die at the end of every adventure during the next few epsiodes of this series - that will become boring!

Titles arent really a huge departure from the previous set. Don't understand how they might cause offence.

oh yes, saw the 23rd november date and thought that's what they were implying, they missed a trick there not to put 1863

Unless the three year gap is somehow significant to the story.

Are they (in the case of the specials) the crappy 60Hz conversions we got on blu-ray? And is Torchwood the crappy 50Hz conversion we got on broadcast?
