Have the Daleks ever been used in anything independent of Doctor Who?

Am I the only person who thinks that the BBC not owning the rights to characters in one of their TV series is a bit odd?

Well they've been in adverts and tv offal and things but i don't know if that counts.

Not so much recently, but back in the day the daleks appeared in loads of things. Look on TV-Ark, they have some examples there.

I haven't seen them on anything since the new series appeared. With the possible exception of Puffin's Pla(i)ce on Channel TV Razz

Does anyone remember the Kit Kat advert in the mid 90s where a Dalek chases a local saying "Peace and Love!" ? I di find that funny despite the Daleks appearing everywhere on merchandise. They did have a fair number of appearances on 2DTV and there's a couple of clips on TV Ark that are spoofs, my favourite one is where the Dalek swears.

Yeah, that was great! "Give us a cuddle!" - hilarious.

I've found some clips here of a Dalek swearing or getting busy with a machine.

Last night's episode was excellent, if a little cliched at times.

The new "Torchwood" series looks interesting. There was quite a bit about it on "Doctor Who Confidential".

Anyone have any information about the types of stories they will be using on it?

I'd probably pick a more cunning disguise if I was. Alphabetically, I'm only one letter out...

There were in Red Dwarf night (as were the Cyberman) choosing their favourite red dwarf moments.

Also in This Morning With Richard Not Judy.

Some amusement for pub managers working for a certain chain of pubs would have noticed some of their old equiptment in Doctor Who at the weekend as seen below...

Doctor Who wallpaper

...the piece of equiptment involved are the two identical white boxes on the wall. These boxes use to be a bit of hardware kit that controlled the pub's EPOS (tills and printers) equiptment. The hardware is called a Checkout U500 Mini. Checkout being the company but is now called Xn.

As part of my role in my existing job was to support such equiptment (although I don't work for Xn) but was phased out two years ago at my company due to the technology being a bit old hat and who would thought that particular Doctor Who episode was suppose to be set in the future!
