Good, interesting 'take' on for an episode for a one off I liked it and funny hearing an alien blob talking like peter Kay, brillant

and slighty off-topic but for anyone who watches Dr. Who Confidential huge big up to Russel T's comment at the end. "Men who are obessed with Football oh that's Ok that macho and cool but people obessed with a TV show are weird and social outcasts. Big up to them I say"

Long post! And i think there's too much death in doctor who.I think they should lower it a bit.
B-but Death is partly what makes the show! You don't know who's going to survive to the end! It's part of the fun!

But usually they are. Go over to the digital Spy cult forum for all the proof you need.

Compared to some Doctor Who episodes that was a lower death count.

It was certainly a different style of filming, consisting effectively of a 'video diary' and flashbacks. There was yet another blatant plug for Torchwood in reference to the torchwood files, though details on Rose were missing due to a 'Bad Wolf' virus. In parts the episode felt too stretched out and relatively rushed towards the end.

It was a nice little story I suppose, but I got bored about half way through when it felt as if it was going nowhere. I was just waiting for the Doctor and Rose to appear for most of the episode. I can imagine a lot of children losing interest, which will probably be reflected in the ratings.

I suppose the meaning of the "Scooby Doo" part was to show that the Doctor and Rose do actually go on adventures that we don't see in episodes. If that needed to be demonstrated...

On the positive side, next week's episode looks promising. And an opportunity to see what News 24's going to look like in 2012!!

with a slight wry reference to NEW series 1, episode 1.

Why did Peter Kay's alien talk with a Bolton Accent? - because all planets have a Bolton (and the UK has 4 Bolton's - sad fact Embarassed ) Laughing Laughing

On a more serious note (if that can be said with tonight experimental flop) Peter Kay's "Human" character did not have a very strong Bolton accent, and yet when he transformed his accent more Lancastrian than usual - why didn't the alien form keep the same pitch of the accent?

Why did they have to kill his character off? - he could have made a good comical recurring character, just like the slitheen

I can see the character of Elton actually turning up on Torchwood - The series.

How many more references of Torchwood can we take!!! ? I'm fed up of it already and really putting me off in wanting to wtch Torchwood-The Series.

I am sure on any other occasion the Doctor would have been able to retrieve the other human characters from the alien, instead of letting them die.

on another note....

I just hope its the old "This Universe" cybermen that we see in the final episode and not the new "Alternative Universe" ones as they do look B****y awful - as I have previous said - plus it would tie in nicely with the episode in Series 1 where an old cyberman head was on show.

I thought Elton was going to be made a new companion or something like that, so he'd be in the Tardis for the last few episodes and then take over when Rose leaves. Clearly I was wrong.

How many more episodes left of this series?

Three more- the one off "Fear Her" next week- based around the London Olympics, and then the two-part series finale- Army of Ghosts/Doomsday.

I may be the only one here who thinks this, but did anyone else find that, right before Victor Kennedy showed up, the group was rather charming? I liked the way that, even though there were only 5 of them, they managed to make food for each other, read stories, make art and music, and lots more whilst still looking for the Doctor, albeit less so than originally. This might have been the effect, but for me it worked.

I kind of wish I was part of a small group like that. They seemed so friendly and happy with each other. Maybe it's because I've never really had a group like that myself. Or maybe I'm just rambling. Sigh. Sad

Hmm, it was seeing the show from the villians side (if that makes any sense). Reversing the storyline. Apart from Peter Kay's "eczhema" pun - i didn't much of the episode. Confused

I didn't mind it this week. It was nice seeing something different in Doctor Who for a change.

Mr Kay was great.

Very nice of BBC ONE NI to allow the whole theme tune to play uninterupted at the end "for one week only" as they stressed! Very Happy

Smug ****. They're going to do the right thing just once? Oh whoop-de-doo.
