Who has been doing the announcements in Belfast into Doctor Who?

All credit to the Broadcasting House staff, when they are on the air they show a great deal more enthusiasm, respect for the viewer and general good sense about the programmes they introduce - more so than any announcer at HavHo (eg. Gillian announcing into a football match, Julian going all L**t*n-esque at any programme with a gay kiss) and perhaps on the network.

My sister still get can't over Tennent looking like Jarvis Cocker from Pulp, when he puts his glasses on !

Another brilliant episode and congratulations once again to BBC NI for such a minimal announcement over the very beginning of the closing titles.

Indeed. There is one male BBC NI announcer though who I'm sure will obliterate most of the closing music if he's ever on shift!

tonight on network we got a "Rushed" announcement over the end credits and for the first time in five weeks.....the middle 8 could be heard in all it's glory.

With reference to tonights episode.....superb! A little like Robocop at the end with all that robotic clunking!

I took the advice of someone on here last week and watched the start on BBC1 Wales (they don't half brag about it....and so they should.... Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy !):

Here is the full comment as a video file for those that can't get it:
BBC ONE Wales - Doctor Who Intro with mention of BAFTA - 13/05/06
and I watched the ending on BBC1 NI (cos they hardly talk - Very Happy Very Happy ) and you get the best of the music, although Sky+ cut off early again as the programme over-ran by 3 minutes and my "margin of error" is only set as 2 minutes either side of a start/finish time Confused Confused (Must change that for next week - as it's becoming a BBC habit) Rolling Eyes

Great episode. Can't wait for next week

Great episode, enjoyed Roger "Trigger" Lloyd Pack's performance.

Network's credit announcement was shorter which made for a change; NI's was very quick too.

Another great episode, made even better by NOT showing a trailer of next weeks episode during the end credits like they did in the last series when they were 2-parters (ok, we know the Doctor will survive, don't we!!).

I wanted them to do a next time bit actually. It should be law every show has to have a next time bit at the end.

Why?

Programmes never used to do it until about 5 years ago. It is an American thing that has crept into our television. I don't believe in having a Next Time trailer - it can and sometimes does spoil the viewing of the next episode.

i agree they should not show trailers for the next episode of any programme which can spoil the out come. They did that some years ago with ballykisangel where a character fell down a cliff at the end of an episode but was still alive, the very next second they showed a 'next time' trailer where he dies.

yet in the following episode he is still alive at the start, he dies later, so the trailer in that respect totally spoilt that entire episode because you knew he would die.

on the other hand 'previously' trailers are very useful if you missed the previous episode

Yes at last the middle 8 bit with no interuption! I think the middle 8 bit was shifted more towards the end than usual though - I've none recorded to check though. Have the BBC released a full version of this reworked theme music anywhere?
