Any reason for the usurping of the afternoon schedule on BBC ONE with a repeat showing of both EPs 1 and 2 of this new series tomorrow afternoon?

So people who are out on a Saturday night and/or were watching the rugby this week are able to watch it (and possibly bring in a new audience) perhaps?

Part of that timeslot was originally meant to be Bakeoff, of all things! Maybe the fact it's first showing did OK against Corrie Live means that they decided the repeat wasn't needed, so they gave the slot to the Doctor instead?

So far I have found it... satisfactory.

There was absolutely no need, though, really, for

the Doctor to have already anticipated Davros's plan, since it retroactively robs the story of most of it's drama!

I think next week's episode looks a bit more "proper."

To not have done so

would have made the Doctor look like a gullible fool. Once you know one side of the conversation was insincere, you might as well make it both sides.

I imagine in part because the overnight ratings were only 3.8m due to England v Wales rugby match. I think episode 1 ratings were also down slightly, possibly due to the rugby. Not sure how many people will watch though due to it being a late schedule change.

Nope - been planned since Friday (note the date on this DS article). Might be because of LAST WEEK's ratings being so poor, but certainly not because of yesterday's.

The BBC did realise the Rugby World Cup was affecting Doctor Who, so the double episode repeat is being shown especially for viewers who missed the episodes original transmission because of the Rugby.

Will the figures for the double repeat count towards the final total for episode 2 (less than 7 days ago), but not episode 1 (more than 7 days ago)?

Spin-off news!

Doctor Who spin-off for teens announced

It's to be called... "Class." Hmm.

As the title suggests, the eight 45-minute episodes will be set in a school in contemporary London.

The show will air on BBC Three in 2016.

The show will premiere online with a follow up broadcast on BBC1, assuming that the corporation’s plans to scrap the BBC3 TV channel and make it online-only are approved.
