Just found out on Gallifey Base that Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane Smith) has died

Very sad news. A truly great actor. RIP

And Doctor Who Magazine has just confirmed this on Twitter. R.I.P - truly great actor.

it's very sad but is being discussed on another thread so lets keep this one for the new series of Dr Who

wonder if Riversong is going to be a full time companion for this series

I think that thread was started after the above were posted, so people are keeping it in that thread.

I'm looking forward to Doctor Who returning, think the good weather combined with an early start time might dent the viewing figures a bit though.

Something like that, yes. The first 7 episodes from this Saturday, and the remaining 6 episodes in the Autumn.

Early? It is starting on 23rd April. Series 1 was 26th March, Series 2 was 15th April, Series 3 was 31st March, Series 4 was 5th April and Series 5 was 3rd April. This is infact the latest start they have had.

Sorry I wasn't very clear, I meant 6pm rather than early in the year. They are splitting the series this year, with a big cliffhanger in the middle.

Yeah, Confidental is usually straight after Doctor Who, but not this week because BBC3 will be off air. CBBC will have a tribute to Elisabeth Sladen in the 15 minute gap.

DW is never normally on before 6.15pm.
