Well colour me cynical, dear, but you're mostly full of crap.

Wow... didn't realise you had the right to judge people and have opinions, and yet I'm not... nice and fair system!

Anyway, back on topic... surprised no-one has started to debate the articles covering The Doctor's upcoming Sarah Jane Adventures story.

While the wording of the article is slightly inaccurate, it's mostly correct. However if a single sentence of Who can create a 13 life myth, then people should have been ready for a single sentence to squash it again. It's quite obvious the show makers never envisioned the show lasting this long.

Either that, or even back then perhaps a back up plan had already been made, but is now never to be known. Doubt it, but it's an interesting thought how they would've handled it at the time.

I think some of the reactions to it also show how miserable some cannon freaks can be about things. Wales doesn't exist on Memory Alpha, the Star Trek wiki, on the grounds that it was never actually mentioned on the show in dialogue.

They're almost as bad as pedants! It's "canon", by the way... Wink

I always expected them to get round the restriction of 12 regenerations by stating that it was just a limit imposed by the Head Honcho* on Gallifrey, and that as they are now safely locked away in the Time War, then there would be nothing to prevent the Doctor from continuing to regenerate when the need arises.

*I have no idea who the 'leader' of the Time Lords is. Confused

You'll note the lack of reference to Wales (except in the Background bit which is not "in universe"). If you then delve into the comments/discussion pages you'll note an argument about it all. It's really quite lame.

Rassilon, most recently played by Dalton at New Year Wink

But yeah that was my logic, which of course would one day build a story where they broke out the time lock again and discovered The Doctor was living beyond his time, and would go after him.

Yes, that's him! Wink

That's a good idea for a storyline, littlesmegger, and fits in with the reported resurrection of 'The Master' from oblivion by the Time Lords to help them during the Time War: inferring that they are indeed immortal, and that death isn't necessarily permanent. Laughing

Surely that should be sufficient to keep the Canon Whovians happy?

Forget the above spiel, let's just hope the writing seriously improves, along with better acting from the main characters.

The last series was highly praised, and in most fans eyes was a serious improvement on the Tennant years.

Besides, if this article is anything to go by, one of the characters wont be around for much longer:

[[Mod edit: Added spoiler tags]]

Interesting article & interesting it's been put in spoiler tags seeing as this was the spoiler thread & the other one was spoiler free or have I got that wrong now Laughing

Perhaps Pete would be kind enough to designate this thread as 'spoiler free' as we're now discussing the next series and this is the main active thread?

oh I have no idea what we're at. Are we doing this one as the non-spoiler one or the spoiler one? Given that the show hasn't started yet surely it's best to have this one as the spoiler one until it airs?

I think it was my thread from Series 3 that was the spoiler one, however it got used less & less about a month before Series 5 started, I suppose we could either resurrect that one for spoilers or start a new one?

I'd say use this as spoiler and then make a new one when the new series begins for non-spoilers, that seems fair does it not?
