It's basically a HD friendly version of the original exterior of the TARDIS... but at least it'll give people reason as to why the windows smashed during the regeneration.
Even though technically those windows are merely part of the TARDIS' chameleon illusion, and therefore shouldn't be smashable... but there you go, wibbily wobbily.
It's a shame the market is no longer there (or is there another reason why?) for novelisations of the new series episodes, as well as the original novels 'based on the television series', like what WH Allen / Target / Virgin Books used to do for the classic series.
Any ideas who hold the rights to publish classic series novelisations thesedays & while we're at it, who holds the rights to the TV repeats of the classic series thesedays too?
I believe SyFy used to hold the rights to the classic series for broadcasting, but since BBC America took over Who again in the US, the company as a whole have stopped showing classic episodes in every country.
But seeing Watch has hold of the modern series, I wouldn't be surprised if UKTV didn't eventually get the rights.
UKTV had the UK rights to show classic-era Doctor Who until fairly recently (on UKTV Gold and then UKTV Drama, they repeated the Tom Baker era ad infinum but paid scant regard to the other 19 seasons...).
I know The (UK & Ireland) Sci-Fi Channel did show the series very briefly, but I can't really remember them doing any more than a Doctor Who theme weekend.

if that is the case how did the 9th Dr answer the tardis phone in 'the empty child' if it's all a visual illusion
having the tardis front incorporated into the interior console is new.
I'm interested in the first and last words said by each dr either side of his regenerations, like the 10th /11th being 'I don't want to go / oh legs I've still got legs
the only one I can think of is the 5th / 6th:- , it feels different this time / expecting someone else

So the new trailer is set to be broadcast this Saturday then. Hopefully a series number will be mentioned so we can stop having to cover all bases for series 5/1/31/Fnarg
