Just watching tonight's episode recorded from BBC HD and the audio is phase reversed. Unusual to hear this these days - like audio down a drainpipe and stereo effects ultra-wide. Audio problems at tx might explain lack of audio dipping on v/o and so on?

I can't say I noticed - were you listening in 5.1?

Wonder if anyone noticed the TV in the start of the episode was playing classic Doctor Who... it kind of gave away the fact that the Village world wasn't real.

It's hard to make out, but might it actually be
Jon Culshaw in a Dead Ringers sketch?

the characters would have realised both were dreams as nobody needed the toilet
meaning that we don't use the toilet in our dreams not that the characters never use a toilet in the entire series

Why would the makers of Doctor Who reference a sketch show and not their own history?

Why the use of spoiler tags? The sub-heading of the thread is 'Spoilers Ahoy'.

Is it just me or is Thomas Arthur Darvill the same Tom Darvill who presented CITV in the early 00s?

Why shouldn't they? It's only a tiny throw-away in-joke. And anyway, looking at it again it could just as easily be the start of an episode of Bargain Hunt - that bloke wears a similar hat, and there's what appears to be an Aston strap over the picture.

I kept wondering myself as to why he looked familiar, I couldn't fully recall where from though, now you mention it I can remember him doing CITV, wonder if I can find a pic of him back then Laughing

EDIT: Here he is, courtesy of TV Whirl:

Interestingly enough no mention of his CITV stint on Wonkypedia.
