In the Doctor's timeline, DIM happened before he met Donna. It was before the Runaway bride, this was all about events on earth after he met (or when he would have met) Donna.

Huh? He met Donna first time before we met Martha. The Runaway Bride followed Doomsday, and Smith and Jones (Martha's first ep) followed TRB ??

It's going to be interesting to see how they manage to squeeze the main actors' names into the opening sequence on Saturday. By the look of the trailer Jack and Martha are both in it; so that's at least 5 names to flash up in a rather short space of time.

Although Sarah Jane appears in the trailer, I don't think she was mentioned in the title sequence for "School Reunion" , although that could change since she has her own spin-off series now.

I suppose if there were 6 names they could always double up the last 4.

I know the order for the titles. It will be going:

David Tennant
Catherine Tate
Freema Agyeman
John Barrowman
WITH Elizabeth Sladen
AND Billie Piper

Quite how it'll all fit will be fun to watch.

Pad that's a SPOILER!

Is the concept of not revealing details of upcoming episodes that difficult?

Please please don't do that again.

Shocked Gavin, please tell me you're being tongue-in-cheek?

If not, then Rolling Eyes at you. As if what-text-captions-will-appear-in-the-opening-credits is the greatest possible concern. FFS

That's probably my fault, Gav, since I first mentioned the title sequence in this thread. As an ardent member of the "anti-spoiler brigade' I can assure you that it wasn't intentional to reveal anything that people didn't want to know.

The trailers are quite hard to miss on all BBC channels at the moment, and they are actually increasing my anticipation of the programme quite well without spoiling it. The fleeting glimpses do give an idea of who's in the episodes.

My Radio Times popped through the letterbox this morning and I have managed to avoid the Dr Who article and Saturday's listings - so far! Wink

Why don't you cram it with walnuts.

We've had weeks of argument in this place about not revealing upcoming things.

Whether I consider the credit sequence to be part of the show, or whether I've been avoiding even knowing who of the past characters is returning I really don't have to explain anything to you.

Spoilers are spoilers, and that's why this thread is here.

In relation to the opening credits, I can see them probably moving David and Catherine's names into the Blue Vortex before the TARDIS does it's 90 degree turn into the Red Vortex and then you get the 4 remaining TARDIS travelers. They might have to extend the theme to probably Voyage of the Damned length.

Why can't they just have a normal opening sequence with David Tennant and Catherine Tate and anyone else who may or may not be appearing can just be put across the screen after the opening titles like they do with Producer and Director?

Probably because they've started a bit of a tradition now of having the main characters given due prominence in the title sequence.

I think it would be wrong to stop that now; it does make the episode seem special to have a bespoke* sequence.

Also, on reflection, I'm not sure that it's wrong to discuss the potential title sequence in the "non-spoiler" thread, as obviously all of us watching will know the contents within the first few moments of the show on Saturday before the main dialogue/action begins.

I think though that once the Mighty Moff takes over then they may do away with that all together. By 2010 the titles will have been in used for 6 years & look rather tired.

The average length for usage of them is between 3-4 years before they are changed again.

Also I did like this new arrangement of the theme but on watching Eccleston's The Unquite Dead last night you actually realise how better the 2005 one was.
