... "Bad Wolf" is just a "trading name" for ( A ) the Daleks scheme, and/or ( B ) their leader (Davros), who was hinted at in the teaser trailer Confused

Well we had a little discussion this morning about who it might be and some did say Davros but someone also said the Darlek which committed "suiside" could be back. Still I've given it a 10 for this weeks review....

It might be the emperor dalek from the classic series. The one that had a massive turret on it!

My ill-informed mates, on discovering that first Margaret Slitheen and then the Daleks return, said "Oh they've run out of ideas already have they".... Rolling Eyes

I was standing up by the end, shouting at the TV as all those Daleks appeared. Excellent.

Niggles? Well the Big Brother set looked a bit uninspired...couldn't they have filmed in last years house after it had finished? Also I'm sure it wouldn't have taken that much effort to take over / borrow the Weakest Link studio.

And the rest? Jack Harkness has gone from con man to right-hand man, Rose is finally being a Dr Who companion and not a reject from Hollyoaks. The Doctor's Dalek-hating streak comes out again, and well, 500,000 DALEKS!

PS....where's the explanation as to why Paul McGann became Chris Eccleston? Is that deep booming metallic voice the 8th Doctor? Davros? The Master? Jackie? Mickey? Adam? Rassilon?

I don't know anything about Dr Who previous to this series.. but I've begun to find the way that the Doctor seems to know all of the facts after moments of seeing something very unusual quite annoying.

E.g. In 'Bad wolf' when he saw all of those space ships he immeadiately knew exactly how many spaceships there were, how many Daleks were on each one and how many Daleks that made in total.

I suppose the computer panel he was reading could of given him that answer.

I do see your point though. You would of not liked the Jon Pertwee era. He was a know-it-all doctor and often belittled people who didn't know as much as him, i.e. the Brigadier, Jo Grant etc.

So you couldn't have looked at a car park, 6 by 10 and said... "Sixty cars...four of them in each....that's....er....240 of them"

I believe Paul McGann declined to do a regeneration scene. The only real reference was in the first episode when the doctor looked in the mirror, examined his face and made some glib comment I cant remember, suggesting his regeneration had been recent.

For a start, in a square car park on a flat level surface with a fixed number of spaces, anyone could work out how many cars there were.

My point is that the spaceships were all over the place, and the Doc knew exactly how many spaceships there were and how many Daleks were in each. There are other examples from previous episodes, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

If you're trying to say that I can't do maths, then you're very much mistaken - it's not the point I'm trying to make at all.

Given the doctor's long experience with the daleks, wouldn't it be safe to assume he would be familiar with the general size of dalek fleets and troop strength?

He was never asked.

The production team did not want to do one as it would confuse the new audience they were trying to attract.

He said something about his ears - less pointed/smaller - something like that!

I have to say, the episodes that I've managed to catch I have been extremely impressed with.

The Dalek War looks extremely polished and very blockbuster movie esq! My jaw just dropped when I saw the teaser!

The new Doctor Who website this week is telling everybody to stay off the net for a week and not to watch any trailers on BBC ONE and at 8pm too!

There's going to be daily previews on bbc.co.uk from 12pm and at 8pm on BBC ONE. There's a press screening later this week, and publicity shots will be released tomorrow.

It's amazing how they've managed to keep this ep. under wraps for so long!
