How good was that.

I must confess after seeing last week's teaser I was a bit worried that it might get a bit silly with Big Brother and the Weakest Link and stuff but I am now ashamed for thinking that as it was done excellently!! Dr Who has been one of the few programmes in the last few years that I have religiously watched and I am certainly going to miss it.

If I was a middle-class home-counties dwelling Landrover-owning Points Of View caller I would probably say something awful like "worth the licence fee alone!" or "Good old BBC!" but I would rather chew my own arm off before uttering such phrases. Still, you get the point! Smile

When will people see it's Toyota driving people who say that!

But yes what a good old BBC episode and definalty leave that license fee where it is Nick Pollard, yes you at the back!

Seriously (for a moment) what a great one, I'm rather ashamed to say a little shiver shot down me when I saw them back and like that. I'm starting to regress.

Unbelievable episode tonight! Great stuff!! Comedy and terror rolled into one! Can't wait for next week! Christopher Ecclestone is still going to be in the Christmas special isn't he? Confused:

And is the BBC going to repeat some older episodes of Dr Who over the Summer at all on BBC2 do you know?

Isn't that the David Tennent and Chris episode?

I can't believe that this series gets better and better as it goes on. I would like to see the introduction of lasers in the real Big Brother, then even I would watch.

Also Is it me or is Captain Jack a Billy Bi? LOL! Laughing

I ntoiced that the Doctor hadn't paid his - a crime punishable by death.

I was worried too.

I remember a Sixth Doctor (Colin Baker) story called "Vengeance On Varos", which was meant to be a "comment on the state of modern television" type of thing. But VOV seemed to be trying too hard to be all "clever-clever", and felt self indulgent. So, VOV actually seemed guilty itself of the very point it was trying to make.

Last week's teaser for the "Bad Wolf" episode, had me worried. The "television gone mad" premise struck me as very "VOV mark II", so I expected to miss the mark like VOV did, and for the same reasons.

So, I tuned in to "Bad Wolf" with great trepidation, and very low expectations. Needless to say, my negative assumptions were well and truly blown out of the water. I was overwhelmingly pleasantly surprised and impressed.

I'll second that. I've hardly watched any actual programmes at all in recent years - idents, presentation, news title sequences, etc etc (you know the rest) has been virtually my only interest in TV in recent years.

Dr Who is the first programme for ages, worthy of my attention.

Doctor Who has been one of the best programmes on Television this year IMO,
The homepage of their website unlike others is re-resigned each week for each episode, I liked this weeks BB site!

By death? Surly a more fitting punishment like torture by Trinny and Suzanna then execution awaits....

I caught most of it on BBC THREE....brilliant episode, those recreations of BB and Weakest Link were great, plus the inclusion of the Daleks, making it my favourite ep so far.

And so the 'Bad Wolf' behind it all, will show up next time. Should be interesting.

Russell T Davies in good episode shocker!

Also, I criticised cliffhangers a couple of weeks ago, but the resolution to the Empty child cliffhanger was certainly unique so I have to give some credit there.

I am slightly (only very slightly) disappointed at the whole "Bad Wolf" thing.

Having had the constant references across the whole season, it turns out that the actual phrase "Bad Wolf" doesn't mean anything new/unique (e.g. literally an actual wolf/wolf-like baddie, or whatever)

It is merely a phrase that the Daleks happen to be using as a name for their current schemes.

In the same way that the ITV regional broadcasters are still technically "Anglia Television plc" (or whatever) in the small print etc, and things like "ITV Anglia" are just a "trading name"...

... "Bad Wolf" is just a "trading name" for ( A ) the Daleks scheme, and/or ( B ) their leader (Davros), who was hinted at in the teaser trailer Confused

That's a point. Who was the booming voice at the end who said "they survived through me"

I find it hard to believe it would be Davros. I do have a theory that it might be Adam though for some reason.
