The next episode is called Bad Wolf and is reality tv gone mental, if you lose you die. And the bit with the Daleks looks like it leads into the time war we've all heard so much about. Shocked

Certainly not the best of the series but I'd put it in second place out of the 3 Slytheen episodes. Not really sure why they thought it necessary to bring back an old adversary from just a few episodes ago though.

Still those restaurant scenes were good and I'm pleased to note that Captin Whatever hasn't turned out to be quite as irritating as I thought he would be!!

However one of the biggest criticisms I've had of a lot of the stories was apparent again this week; the weak endings. In the first episode he had some "anti-plastic", in the second he just had to press a button on a wall, and this week the TARDIS did "something" to make it all right again. I'm sure there have been others. The stuff with the nanobots (or whatever they were called) last week was really good though. In fact I'd go so far as to say those 2 episodes make up the best story of the series so far.

Next week's looks really weird, I notice the spelling out of the weekly "Bad Wolf" references for those that have missed it in the last x episodes!

You have to say that it really is bang on topic though - I mean the way they pick up on the fact that Cardiff has so much trouble with it's mayors ! Laughing
Topical or what ? Very Happy

Don't understand why they keep referring to time as something which is 'fixed' in this series. The Doctor said that the Daleks were all killed with the Time Lords in some war, but surely this happened at one point and as he's a time traveller he can move to a time when the Daleks still exist.

Don't think the new people have realised this! Very good though.

not some war: "the last great *TIME* war". Both races were qiped from ever existing in any point in time.

I must admit that was a rather dull episode, contrasting that with next week's two parter!

Overall I think this run of Doctor Who has been fantastic, a bit of the old and indeed a lot of the new and its work. My only quibble is the overuse of Rose and her life. It's the Doctor we are interested in not his assistant. I also think the series has spent too much time focusing on Earth.

Apart from that top notch quality drama which will no doubt win a good few awards later in the year.

I thought the Daleks were meant to be a radical new design, they look just like the old ones, plunger & whisk intact.

Perhaps they referred to the robotic Anne Robinson.

Did you not see the recent episode that showed how deadly the plunger is?

I think the daleks have had a varnish and look more metallic than plastic like they used to. To give Davies some credit the welsh joke was good and the discussion about letting people go reminded me of schlinders list when ralph feinnes "pardons" people. But he's not really interested in science fiction or making the stories even semi-credible. Cardiff castle knocked down to build a nuclear power station? Also, is anyone really interested in rose's mother or boyfriend? I hope they're not in the next series. And I suspect the 'bad wolf' will be a disappointment no matter what it is, as all revelations of a mystery are.

It is a case of "Oh look it's Mickey, AGAIN!". Doctor Who is about the Doctor himself and not the assistant and her life. We've got to know Rose now, let's not make her centerstage. Mind you saying that I would rather like get to know Jack!! Wink
