Saw this on the frontpage of the Star. I don't believe a word of it. Not even Russell T Davies would scrape the barrell that far down. Not just because of Ellison herself, but storytelling wise, it would be crap to replace a working class blonde girl with .....a working class blonde girl...

How about ex-Eastenders pop tart Scarlett Johnson (aka Vicki Fowler) as a Ace / Susan type character - less streetwise than Rose but still with the ability to do more than just scream?

Failing that how about Eliza Dushku?

Here's a screamer! How about a MALE companion?

Also how about one who isn't a school boy. Something like Harry Sullivan only with less sideburns.

Well that was an uplifting episode of Doctor Who, it just left me with a smile on my face.

Yes this episode was the best so far. Possibly better than some of the classics like Talons of Weng-Chiang.

Yes Daily Star has been wrong several times before & I do doubt it, I can't see them replacing Rose with the same character but with a scouse accent.

Someone might pinch the tardis if that happenned.

OK - now DW is not just content with being on Earth for every other episode, besides "Dalek" it's either Cardiff or London. Couldn't the Slitheen survivor been mayor of...oh I don't know...Berwick upon Tweed? If you can make Cardiff look like London (almost) then you can certainly make it look like a Scottish/English backwater.
