Imagine if you stumbled across this by accident, you might think it was real! Laughing

I thought last night's show was great! Radio Times said beforehand that the plot didn't quite "hang together" but I thought it was superb! Futuristic and engaging! Woo hoo!

First episode I've ever watched of Doctor Who and I thought it was superb! Billie Piper is just fantastic in her role, such a credible actress and Bruno Langley, well he didn't really persuade us he wasn't still Todd from Corrie but a familiar face maybe made the episode more accessible to a newcomer, I'll definately be watching next week anyway! Good amount of humour too which I didn't expect, thought it was just for those sci-fi geeks! JK!!

Well up until the 1980s, Doctor Who was always made for the mainstream audience. It was only when John Nathan Turner took over as a producer that it became wrapped up in it's own continuity and lost it's mainstream audience.

Sort of what Star Trek is like now. Rick Berman IS John Nathan Turner. Only a little less dead.

Didnt enjoy this weeks so much, guess I felt they concentrated on the Bruno Langely charecter to much, whom if I was the Doctor I would have never taken on board. I did like the further reference to Bad Wolf though.

It seems to be (in my opinion anyway) that the weaker episodes are the ones written by Russell T Davies although I did enjoy the Aliens Of London and WWIII episodes so only 3 out of the 5 he has written I havent enjoyed as much. The Mark Gatis and Rob Shearman stuff has been great. Looking forward to next weeks episode, that looks to be great..

I think we're meant to be putting spoliers in white text dear. I hate spoilers - it's just so damn rude

It ain't a spoiler - it's a rumour. I don't know what's going to happen cos Im not part of the Dr Who scriptwriting team. Not that it matters, the story will appear in the Radio Times or Daily Mirror about three weeks before the season finale anyways - if you want to avoid knowing the plot of any TV programme nowadays you have to be a deaf mute nun from Anglesey. But that's for another thread - a "Stop Spoilers Now!" thread

Again I found this weeks episode disappointing, and it was rather obvious how they had reused sets from episode 2. I had been angry at christopher eccleston for not doing at least one more series but i'm beginning to think he doesnt really fit the part. I thought he would be too serious for the role but instead he's gone to far the other way, playing the doctor like a schoolboy with a sugar rush. I have greater hopes for david tennant, who showed in casanova he has the necessary quirkiness for the role.

i think after last week's big event we needed a more sedate, unimpressive episode to a) get rid of Todd Grimshaw without us caring and b) to see the Doctor's more stern side.

But I do remember going "Rose! What are you doing?!?" when she gave him the Tardis key. And why was she so chavved up for this ep?

Because, to all intents and purposes, Rose Tyler is a chav, but without the typical bad attitude of most chavs.

If you want to see how ahead of its time Doctor Who was just watch The Stons Of Blood with Tom Baker. Romana comes out in a BURBERRY CAP!! Doctor Who ahead of the game once again. Very Happy

In the second series definitely, sorry but you'll have to put up with the Pertweesque nature of Earth stories until the end of it's run.
