I'm very, very sorry- I thought everyone knew that- it's the name of the episode after all. The picture is taken from the BBC TV homepage and it's all over the Doctor Who page obviously...you would have known within three minutes of the start when the episode title comes up.

Anyway- sorry again.

Apology accepted.

I shall restrain myself from slapping your wrist this time Smile

I think we all knew that the Dalek was going to climb the stairs, it's just that the picture kind of spoils the impact it was going to have. That's specifically why I've tried to stay away from any and every site that might contain such an image.

My sentiments exactly. However, what's done is done. Apologies have been offered and accepted and we can look forward to the episode (even if I'm going to have to record it and watch it tomorrow as I'm out this evening .... grrrrr)

It's funny how everyone in the Press and on here is wetting themselves over a Dalek hovering up stairs. They were already hovering up stairs in the Sylvester McCoy years.

I know, it doesn't really matter now that I've seen it, but the impact is spoilt quite a bit. I still can't wait to see if the Dalek cries out what it's been rumoured to when it starts up the stairs... Laughing

I've not heard of these rumors but it just popped into my head in a high pitched scream ELEVATE.. that would be quite kool.

Well, what an absolutley great episode tonight....I never thought (after hiding behind the sofa 20years ago) that I would have a tear for a Dalek!

Excellent writing skills by Russell T Davis!

This was a Rob Shearman script, and it certainly came across that way. The script was so much more solid and had no stupid gay or fart jokes in it like Russells scripts have done so far. It was very serious too.

Fantastic episode i must say.

They said we'd feel sorry for a Dalek but I didn't believe them, now it shows they were right. Absolutely wonderful Exclamation Very Happy

Very touching episode and a great and seamless move between fear and sadness. Excellent writing and a definate contender for the best of series thus far. Shame though that the Daleks have gone forever though.

Interesting that the Doctor didn't "kill" the Dalek - I know he didn't need to but reminded me of the Tom Baker era when he too couldn't bring himself to kill the Daleks, instead just putting them back a few years. As he put it anyway.

Agreed, but I think when the Dalek said to The doctor that he would make a great Dalek was a very good moment. When you are around things too long you can adopt their habits without realising it.

They may not be gone yet... Highlight below to find out why (Warning, possible spoilers)

The last two episodes of this current run are rumoured to feature the Daleks invading Earth.

It was strange that you actually felt sorry for the dalek, something I guess no-one anticipated. I also liked the way it exterminated people and how it thought about what it was doing (using the sprinkler system). Easily the best episode of the season and was as serious as required (without stupid children's jokes).
