Yesterday's episode was great, don't get me wrong, but I feel the first ep was a bit better

I capped the intro theme tune here should anyone care for it.

Many thanks for the theme, it is appreciated! Good quality too.

On a presentation note, this weeks show had pre-titles which contained the BBC logo and so the titles themselves didn't have the BBC logo. Just thought i'd point that out.

And listening to the MP3, has the theme changed a bit since last week? Dosen't seem to contain as many backup melodies as the first episode.

you're right mr-stabby, it does sound different.

playing that version against the one i downloaded from this page (Click) it is a few seconds (About five) shorter than last weeks one.

Altho I prefer the theme from the McGann film personaly, it's a great update.

I love the McGann theme also. I love orchestral music. I think Murray Golds rendition pulls it off quite well though whilst keeping the electronic side in. I always thought the Who theme was meant to be electronic, as it was really the first electronic theme tune ever. Or at least ONE of the first.

I've still to watch the second episode of Doctor Who. I taped it, but haven't had the time to sit down and watch it. I'm glad to see that it got around 7 million and beat ITV again! It must still be good then if it is keeping up those ratings...although it is 3 million less than last week's episode. I still can't believe that Eccleston quit, only after 1 series!!

The audience percentage went down quite a bit, but then so did Ant and Dec also this week, so i guess it's just a result of the clocks going forward maybe.

Record them on tape, Rolling Eyes how outdated im recording them onto dvd each week

Oh, lucky you. How exciting that you can actually afford one of these things.

I record onto tape & dub to DVD later meself.

Wasn't it 'interesting' that the Doc's a closet Soft Cell fan !

Surprised they didn't sneak one of Billie's records onto the soundtrack as well !

I didn't really get the first episode because it seemed like I had to believe that Rose's life was reality, then all of a sudden accept that there is a pool of talking fire near the London Eye.

It's living plastic dear! Fire indeed.

Talking of chaing themes. I've complied a small dr who mix of all the main versions of the theme. I think, after the movie version, the new ones fit in very well. Have a listen here. Dr Who

Dr Who beat Ant & Dec again last night according to overnight figures, although both shows were down in terms of number of viewers watching.

Dr Who - average 7.27 million viewers (36.05% share)
Saturday Night Takeway - average 6.02 million viewers (30.86% share)

Dr Who is down from 43.2% audience share, while I can't find what Ant and Dec was last week, but I think they haven't lost much.

Clocks going forward and fairly good weather obviously had an effect.

Suppose it didn't help Ant & Dec that they had the liar on last night Very Happy

With Doctor Who in the 70's they moved the show to the autumn/winter months for much the same reason, because there were more people watching then. When Ant and Dec ends, Doctor Who's ratings will go up, because if they can beat Ant and Dec they'll certainly beat Celebrity Mud Wrestling!! Well I hope so anyway.

And isn't it funny how Noel's House Party got higher audience figures when it was ending, than Ant and Dec are with a show that's succeeding.

Did Noel have all those satellite stations Ant & Dec have as competition? That could be the reason why figures and statistics can work for you or against you depending on how you present the figures.
