Just spotted this on another forum: . . . . . . .

I worked 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, since September, only to have some idiot at transmission mess up all our hard work. This was meant to be the proudest night of my career. I am absolutely gutted that the only thing that will be talked about will be the Graham Norton voiceover instead of the dramatic elements of audio that we created for the show..

Which is entirely understandable, but misplaced anger.

Maybe not ruined, but I sat in disbelief that such a foul-up could have happened on so important a premiere.

Tis a bit embarrasing - I wonder how the regions coped if the promo before Doctor Who didn't fail with them.

Nations Nicky, Nations! And happily, thanks. Wink

PS, Doctor Who was fantastic.

yes, I liked how Scotland just shot right into it. Very slick.

We didn't get Graham Norton leakage in Scotland did we? I don't remember it at any rate.

I gather Scotland ran their own copy and opted out of network early due to footie coverage.

Why is that misplaced anger? Seems reasonable to me to blame TX.

It's misplaced because he's blaming "an idiot" when he has no idea whether the problem was caused by a human or by equipment failure.

Well I didn't notice any Graham Norton's misplaced voice at the beginning of the show. It must have been very qyick. I did record the programme though so I will check for that tomorrow.

But all in all, it was a truly fascinating superb programme. The effects, the acting, The Doctor, Rose, the wit, the timing, the drama, the action - unbelievable!

I will definitely be watching next week! And the week after...and the week after that! 13 weeks of quality televisionon a Saturday night!!!! Very Happy

So was it the case some of the nations missed part of the titles? I'd have thought that if Network pulled the trail after it didn't run, it caught the nations on the hop who did manage to run the trail then the ident/anno into the programme?

Sod's law something had to go wrong. I'm sure the Network director is pretty gutted tonight.

I'm a bit peeved that after the beeb have made a big deal of the theme tune, that on the first episode an announcer talked over it. Arggh!

Oh well at least they didn't squash the credits.

Wales missed about 10" due, as you say, to having already started running the trail which Network had problems with and ditched halfway through.

Well, apart from the sound problem during the episode, Wales joined it ok I think

They played out a trailer for Belonging (regional trailer) then and Ident with a quick "This is BBC ONE Wales" anno, followed by a "Great TV. Made In Wales" Slide and faded into the titles while the BBC logo was displayed. I think they might have been 1 or 2 secs late I'm not sure

The program was fantastic though, I recognised loads of locations they used for filming. The Partners store I buy my stationary and supplies is directly above the part of the arcade they used for the scenes with the dummies attacking people, the bit outside is right by the cash machine I use from time to time Smile Spent most of my time picking out the locations I've been Embarassed

Will watch again next week, the BBC3 documentary was mostly footage used from other Dr Who shows and the BBC1 "preview" earlier in the day though so I'd seen most of it before Confused
