Nah, he's still around...
Too bad we can't say the same to the paranoid bloke and his family.
I'm amazed the beep had the balls to imply a whole shopping mall (san's Rose's mother) was masicared.

Well after a 10 million pound budget and endless publicity the first show was screened tonight only to be ruined by technical problems.
The tense scene in the basement of the store was totally ruined leading up to the introduction of the Doctor.
Prior to the start presentation had a failure and the show started early catching some of the regions out - I gather although not confirmed, viewers in NI finally joined network once Christopher Eccleston's name was on screen in the opening titles.
I feel sorry for the cast, production team and writers but most of all the fans who like me have been waiting for tonight for years only to be spoilt.
BBC presentation hang your heads in shame - a bloody disgrace!

Typical to be ruined by technical probs. Its as if it was planned.
Anyway, considering I'm not a Sci Fi fan I found that episode brilliant!
However when 'Mark Benton' was showing photos to Rose why was the doctor always Eccleston's face?

My take on that was that it was the doctor's current incanation. (Ie: He lost his 8th form and then went to the JFK/Titanic events)

The first ep of Doctor Who was truly fantastic. Comedy, adventure and gripping drama all rolled into one. BBC deserve to beat ITV tonight with this magnificent new series of the Sci-Fi classic. Strictly Dance Fever was also enjoyable, better than yet another dose of Stars in their Eyes! BBC is again the king of Saturday nights!

Good to have the teaser at the end for next week's show. I'll retract my previous comments and will watch further...
Great little snippets on the BBC3 show too.

Oh come on... it was only for a a fraction of a second. Get some perspective.
How can you say that it was 'ruined'? Transmission failure halfway through perhaps might have ruined it... but a bit of 'odd' audio... huh?
(shakes head in a amazement).

Maybe not ruined, but I sat in disbelief that such a foul-up could have happened on so important a premiere.
