All sounds perfectly plausible, but again these are only rumours.
This is correct, it will launch at 7pm on Saturday 26th March. It will be intresting to see how it fares against Ant and Decs Saturday Night Takeaway, which it will go head to head with for the first few weeks.
Prior to launch the BBC will be launching a huge publicity campaign across all media types. I believe that television and radio trailers commence in the first week of March, with billboards appearing shortly afterwards. This shows that the BBC have put a huge amount of faith in the New Series.
Strange, that is the Easter weekend.I am sure a lot of people will be away for a few days.
But alot of people will also be at home. Easter is another peak audience time for channels. Every channel will be competing for the largest share of the audience. It is a very good idea to launch it that weekend.
My friend loves Doctor Who, I don't mind it too I like Jon Pertwee. He was my favourite Doctor in the whole series. But I hope the new series will hit big time once more
Even though an airdate for the start of of the new series has yet to be offically announced (but expected to be Easter Saturday), the first episode of the new series, entitled "Rose" has been leaked, and is doing the rounds on various BitTorrent sites and p2p networks.
The media were shown an advance copy recently (which is why reviews have started appearing in newspapers and magazines recently), but surely they were shown it in a lock-in or something? Who knows how it got out...
It was the Canadian copy of the program that got leaked, captured and put on the interweb. I myself have seen the copies on the Bittorent sites, but i am NOT downloading it. No way! I want to watch it on my DVD quality Sky Digital thankyou!

Same here, and I'd strongly advise against anyone broadcasting the fact they got hold of a copy. Recent clamping down on illegal downloading puts the sh'ts up me - and anyone is traceable.
I'm hopeful this series will do really well, they've been very clever about marketing it. They said the programme was coming back and more or less kept quiet until now, instead of familiarity breeding contempt we've got huge excitement over what to expect.
However they've still got an uphill battle in trying to convince large sections of the general public that this show isn't for sad people, and that Billie Piper is good in it. My friends, even now, when I say Doctor Who is coming back aren't interested and say 'oh dear' and when they see Billie Piper they just put their fingers in their throat and do a vomiting sound.
For the programme to be truly successful these are the people they need to win over, Who fans will watch it anyway.
Well according to the people who have seen it, Billie Piper is very good, and almost outshines the Doctor.
Overall the outlook is good, although they have said that the processed video look is awful, and the special effects are a bit naff, and the incidental music is awful. But hey who fans will moan about anything.
I have heard though that the Theme tune is the original Delia Derbyshire theme just re-mastered into 5.1 with perhaps a few minor bits added. Can't wait to hear that! Loved the Delia Theme!
