I though the break next years was to give him more time to do other stuff,

It is yeah, they are doing three specials (don't know if that includes the Christmas one or not) as he is on stage during the later part of this year.

Apparently it's the other way round - David Tennant is going on stage this year because Doctor Who is taking a year out.

Really?

Also, somebody said earlier about it being one year full series, one year out - no, it's full series with the occasional year off.

Hmm... will have to do some digging on this I'm 99.927% sure I read that they were doing it to accomidate Tennant.

EDIT: From a proper Newspaper: http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/organgrinder/2007/09/doctor_who_no_fifth_series_til.html

From above article:

What's going on? Well it looks at first glance as though the BBC has cut a deal to keep Tennant - who is reportedly appearing as Hamlet at the RSC next year - and Davies on board for another year, but at the expense of not commissioning a full 13 part series for 2009.

Ah that would be me, I may have misunderstood RTD I presumed this would be the case if Tennant stays on for 4-5 more years, however if a new actor comes in then I can see that we'll be back to just the regular full series

It's something I've read a few times on the Doctor Who Forum recently. Apparently it was in the latest Doctor Who Magazine or something - can't find the exact quote at the moment, though.

Anyone notice the subtle , I think it is "Atmos" references in the show since the first episode.

I saw it on the taxi cab window in the first episode, it was mentioned briefly on Saturdays episode and now on the "Next Week" preview you see it again?

Is this the same story arc like from the previous series - Bad Wolf, Torchwood and Mr Saxon?

Yeah I noticed that too this week, ATMOS perhaps an anagram of ATOMS (something to do with a Nuclear war perhaps), probably not Laughing

The show seems to exist solely to sell merchandise these days. The stories and writing certainly arent receiving full attention. S4 has been crap so far and all the foreshadowing is becoming really tedious. They might as well have a flashing neon sign telling us Rose is returning and the world is facing impending environmental doom. Rolling Eyes
