Having just rewatched The Runaway Bride before Partners in Crime (and the two fit well) - I'm pretty sure the TARDIS didn't make it's usual dematerialisation sound when it left at the end of Bride.

Yes, but wouldn't you turn around if you heard a strange machine-like noise behind you in the street? I'd certainly think "wtf's that?" and turn round and have a look.

I'd say that's highly representative of many people in this country (and the US, amongst others) who have little enough idea of what's going on politically etc in their own country, let alone knowing where Azerbijan (for instancE) is.

I doubt that a political dispute on a planet would lead to an entire planet quietly vanishing without telling anyone why.

Not disappearing literally dear Ronnie. More like China saying 'oh crap, we lost Tibet'.

This is Donna. She managed to fail to notice the Sycorax ship, the Daleks and the Cybermen (not to mention the Titanic) - I can quite see she might miss something a little... quieter and smaller.

A political dispute (well, that's an understatement, but humour me) broke the former USSR into many many countries. Do you know what happened and how many countries there are now?
One breeding planet going missing out of what could be quite a large empire/republic probably isn't such a great deal to most regular alien lifeforms...

Catherine Tate in the commentary suggested they should be merchandised.

I wonder what will be the Christmas top pressie this year!!!

Cyberman helmet?
Daleks?
Adipose?

Must admit, as soon as I saw the adipose my very first thought was that would make a cracking birthday or Christmas present - for girlfriend or wife or children???? Sad really, isn't it?

I wonder if the pre Empty Child Jack is goin to turn up in the background for this one. Well if Rose can do it..... PLUS he does have an excuse to be there for "Volcano Day" (See 'The Doctor Dances')

Last nights episode (Fires of Pompeii) was superb a great story, just how Who should be. Couldn't really fault this one at all 9.75/10 Very Happy

I agree last nights story was fantastic - The Mill's special effects were the best ever.

For me Catherine Tate made the episode - being someone who was not keen on her joining the series full time I admit she was truly brilliant last night - the emotional scenes with the Doctor onboard the Tardis showed a different side to the 'mouth on legs' which I was expecting.

Donna Noble could well become my favourite companion and easily for me outshines Rose and Martha.
