How about Keith Allen as the Doctor?

Ye...No, I don't know with this one to be honest. Stephen Fry would make a good Doctor in character sense but would he be up for leaping all over the place like Eccelston or Tennant would? Doubt It

I think we should keep our eyes on some of the new talent on the moment seeing as David Tennant was at that stage when he was offered the role & now will be in demand once he leaves the show.

Either that or it will be Alan Davies

Slightly OT,but I don't think Doctor Who's ever done comedy very well.

Take the Tardis parking scene in Fear Her for example. It felt too important. It would have been better if the doctor had come out and gone"Dude!" Laughing

They never actually do a comedy episode.I want to see Daleks shopping and being served by Cybermen.

If you want to see that sort of thing I suggest you watch dead ringers.

The best comedy story Doctor Who ever did was City Of Death. It just worked perfectly from start to finish.

Tom Baker it was from his penultimate season and was written by Douglas Adams (Hitch-Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy). Every other story that season had loads of comedy in it and were dreadful, this one however was just perfect.

Couldn't agree more. City of Death is my favourite story of the Tom Baker era.

The classic scene of course being the "I love your butler he's so violent'" scene. Laughing

I love the scene in the cellar when The Doctor and The Count are giving each other one word answers. Tom Baker had such a larger than life presence as The Doctor and during his 7 years Julian Glover was the only actor on the show that was able to keep up with him and go toe to toe with his performance.

I dont know about no comedy but the banter between the Daleks and the Cybermen at the end of Season 2 was fantastic

In that case, if you want comedy

If they do ever bring back the Cybermen I would imagine that they would need to have a bit of a redesign, that's if they return in their original form as an actual race rather than an invention by a madman
