BS
Technically, each Christmas special is part of the following series, as it is recorded with those episodes (usually in a recording block with the first couple of episodes of the following series).
No .It's episode 14 of the previous one.For example,The Christmas Invasion aired in 2005 so that's the last episode.
I disagee with saturdaymorning's "no" attitude in this instance.
In practical terms, the festive one-off specials aren't part of any "series/season" of Doctor Who, by virtue of their transmission being, er, one-offs!
If you want to regard the festive episode as being "technically part of a particular series/season", you could either judge on the basis of...
A: which production block the episode is produced during, as Neil Green has done. (Which would therefore make the festive episodes count as "episode 0" of the following calendar year's series/season).
Or B: which calendar year the episode is broadcast during, as saturdaymorning has done. (Which would therefore make the festive episodes count as "episode 14" of that same calendar year's full season).
Both viewpoints are sort-of "correct", in different ways. I personally would say that the former argument seems to be the more favourable logic, but the main point is... it doesn't actually matter !
