Why the freakin' obsession with Tom Baker's life/death status? FFS
Paragraph from my own earlier post:

They could do it like that Bob Monkhouse Prostate Cancer advert (i.e. a mixture of: Digitally manipulated old Drs footage/sound from actual classic episodes, with some use of "body doubles", lookalikes, soundalikes... (etc) to create a finished illusion). Clearly, only the first 3 Drs would
need
soundalikes to provide dialogue - subsequent old Drs' voices could be provided by the genuine articles!
If such a multi-Dr story were ever to happen using that method, and if Tom Baker was sadly no longer around by then, then clearly the first
four
Doctors would all be entirely artificially re-created, and only the 5th Doctor and onwards would be able to make any use of the original actors.
EDIT:
As I also said in my previous post, there are many reasons why a "multi Dr" story would be inadvisible IMHO. The potentially decreasing number of surviving "classic Dr" actors is one extremely major reason.
Either
A:
a major anniversary of the programme (e.g. the 50th Anniversary in 2013) or
B:
the very final era of the programme (i.e. the 13th Dr's final season) would be pretty much the only occasions that would even remotely justify a "multi Dr" story, if one were to ever happen at all. Doing such a story at some random stage, just for the sake of "getting in there quickly before Tom Baker dies" is ridiculous. What the heck goes on inside your head, saturdaymorning?
He seems to think that all the other Doctors are immortal and only Tom Baker can die. Did you know that some people live over the age of 80? He looks nothing like he used to anyway. And we don't even NEED a reunion for the millionth time
The problem with doing things the 'Bob Monkhouse Cancer Advert' way is the footage of Bob Monkhouse was done pretty recently so the quality was ok. Doctor Who footage from the 60s would be in B&W and from the 70s onwards would be on really old VideoTape, so for that to be included in a modern story would stand out a mile!

Exactly.
All the "remastering" and whatnot that would be needed would be a gargantuan (sp?) task. Not worth it.
I really don't think that Dr Who will end after the 13th Doctor's final series - I think they'll conveniently 'forget' it, or think of some way to get round it.
In 1983's
The Five Doctors
, the ("14th") Master was promised by the Time Lords that he'd be given a new cyle of (presumably 12) regenerations if he helped the Doctors. So, obviously there's some injection/operation/whatever that can be done.
The 13th Doctor could presumably do this, if given access to the appropriate means.

Are you insulting my intelligence?Oh,and it wouldn't be at a random stage.Next year it's 45 years.

I think this is what they will do once we get to the 13th Doctor, perhaps he will get some "reward" and have extra regenerations?
Regarding the Sontarans & the Ice Warrior, yes they have been b*ggered to death but so have the Daleks, Cybermen & The Master so it's a possibility unless they bring back the Yeti?
