no, I just can't stand all these people shouting "oh let's bring back every godamn villain and doctor 'cause it would be cool." NO conideration for the fact it would **** up the show and there would be nothing fresh.

I think it would be fresh - new characters are often weak, and although I see what your saying, the episodes are actually new, the storyline and so on, so it's not keeping stuff for nostalgic reasons.

Even so, people will get sick of seeing old monsters they'd only seen a couple of times anyway. Like the ice warriors, they were good for 2 stories, they bought them back for another 2 and it sucked. When you bring back a monster for the sake of it, it sucks. Just look at "day of the daleks", the Daleks weren't even MEANT to be in that story, but as it was a season opener, they thought it would be good for the ratings. The Daleks then looked totally out of place in the plot and it sucked.

Doctor Who Confidential episode for "The Sound Of Drums", Davies stated that it had always been his intention to bring back classic icons of Doctor Who one step at a time: Daleks in series 1, Cybermen in series 2, and the Master in series 3. He has also stated that he is not finished and will continue reviving villains from the original series.

But this new run is in a lot of ways, I think, better than the previous run. So it's good to see some old monsters brought back in a new style Doctor Who.

What has RTD got to do with this? It isn't RTD who is suggesting bringing back every single villain from the old series.

The ICONIC ones, yes, not each villain. you lot are saying "bring back the rani, bring back omega, bring back the valeyard, bring back all the Doctors." Omega appeared in one serial, The 3 Doctors, and was fantastic, they bought him back for Peter Davison, and he was crap. The Ice Warriors were crap when they returned for 2 more stories, the Rani was crap in both of her stories. Does this not suggest that it might not be such a good idea to milk each character dry? Do you not think Doctor Who should stay fresh rather than strangle a character to death? I don't think so.

But do you not wonder why they were crap? Was it that they were milked? Milked dry after just one episode? I doubt it. Maybe it was something else, lke the story?

EDIT: After reading your post on Metropol just now, I feel should apologise for making you angry. But I do feel we are having an interesting discussion TBH.
